  • Back To The Start: E28 Shenaigans

Been Here On Stanceworks For a while , Started out as GermanlookT3 ( original OG starter of the e36 appreciation thread )

This is my 4th e28 the other three are unfortunately no longer here due to accidents.
Last one I owned was in 2009 when I met my Now wife . Ended up selling it and started working on other projects .
    Heres My old cars :

    98 3.0 Jetta Glx

    2000 Passat Wagon

    2001 Audi S4

Ok Before you say it .... Yes I like Corvette wheels , I daily my cars and Really like the stress free yet good look these wheels give . Yes I have them on my E28 but ... not for ever .

Little background . Got the Itch to buy another E28 since I sold my last one . I liked all my old cars but they just lacked soul. I felt like I just put them together and then after I was done , I was bored . I would look for more cars but I kept thinking about e28's again .
Fast forward to 3 months ago , I put the S4 and Passat up for sale and started looking . Found one before I sold the other two cars so for a short time the front of my house looked like a car lot . Luckily I sold them both that following week .
So here is a run down on the car . Its an 84 533i Bought it from a kid who knew how to keep a car clean but knew next to nothing about maintaining a car . water pump leaked water like a kids pool after someone shot a hole in the bottom . Car ran like a small block chevy . Smoked like crazy , dash was falling apart , Cluster didn't work , radio stations only worked on country and some christian rock channel , and every hose that was in the engine compartment was rotted away. I could've used a used dried up condom with better results.

Here's a run down of what Ive done , Unfortunately I haven't taken pictures of every step , but Ive taken all the major ones. I promise I'll be better from now on .
First things first > Here is where It started all stock

I dont have pictures of the many boxes I recieved but I went to work on Replacing every hose , line , gasket , almost every sensor under the hood .
    Said water pump >

Decided to kill the front yard with coolant lol! My wife wasnt too happy but I gave her the D and shes okay with that .

Got to work On the motor with my Guys. Major help from them . We knocked alot out in one day .

Installed a 3:73 from a low mileage e30 cause I'm all bout that drift life . Dropped fluid all over the driveway . Again wife was mad But the D fixes all . BTW that Hawaiian man is not me .

Engine ran like a brand new car after that so I took her for a drive.

Now That I was done with the big stuff, I decided to get to work and spend some money on funner things

Started Shopping and Aquired Some goodies >
Pfeba Front Lip From The Motherland Aquired

Some E-codes to hold me off till I Get ahold of some Euro Goodies

A pfeba M Tech Spoiler , I think its the same one from the 535is

And Of Course Some Scene Blades . Something to roll on cheap until I get ahold of some nice rollers. Like I said , I love vettes haha

So I got to Work . Put it all together , painted some trim , tucked the bumpers a tad , cut some springs cause Ive gotta order some coils , Waxed her and Here she is currently .

Ordered some Motor mounts , new Lenses for the bumpers , a skid plate , some parts from bmw to fix stripped out belt tentioners and a vintage alpine head unit .

I will update when Ive got those in my hands ready to install . Lots of work ahead on this car still . Just made her a little more soft on the eyes in the mean time

Cut 2 coils out back . And I'm on the 1st adjuster ring I believe . I'm gonna order some Motor mounts spacers from some company in Britain but until then I think I'm just going to use some washers.

Love it , woke the car up ! With the 3:25 it was a turd , I felt like I had to downshift all the time . The 3:75 at 75 is 3k not bad at all, 3rd gear is fun passing people . I get about 25mpg at that speed . I'd do it all over again .

                          Thanks !
The Transfer pump is made by a company called Airtex part Number E8197H . They call it the Fuel Pump Hanger Assembly .
                          Bought in On Amazon

Ive heard great things about it , Mye28.com has a few articles about them. Cant beat 100$ shipped with a lifetime warranty.
I will be installing it tonight so ill give you an update !

Also got a few more things in ...
Decided to tackle the Odometer gears . They kept sticking .

Decided to add some fogs on the top of the bumper for a Gumball rally look . They came with Cool vintage caps .

                          I'll install these tonight too
