Hey guys
I haven't posted up on here much, but I figured I'd start a build thread up for my budget FC driftcar/missile/whatever you wanna call it build. I'm currently in Reno since I'm a student at UNR, but the car is at home in Vegas and I fly down to work on it/drive during the year so there hasn't been that much progress lately, but hopefully progress will pick up soon as I'll be home for the summer. The plan is to build it and start driving in VegasDrift events with a pretty much stock Turbo2 motor setup, then add power once I'm a better driver hahaha.
Earlier last year (I forgot the month exactly, college has made my memory fuzzy) I came across a deal on a 1987 FC Turbo II craigslist, picked it up for quite a good deal actually, a Rotax kart and 1500 cash lol.
Drove down to LA to pick the car up, and this is how it looked.

My initial plan was to drive it back to Vegas, since the previous owner said it'd make it back, but after test driving it I realized the brakes sucked ass. (vacuum to the brake booster was the issue) Said screw it and tried to drive home anyways, blew a heater hose, fixed it, blew another one, got angry. Rented a uhaul and a trailer and finally got the car home.
(Sorry for the Instagram photo...but while you're at it, follow me @lorenzobayuga
)

Cracked a radiator, went aluminum and got new hoses.

Interior looked like booty when I got it, so I cleaned it up a bit and replaced the super tiny steering wheel the previous owner put on.

Drove it around a slid it a little, fixed a bunch of things here and there.

Then it pulled some gay rotary shit on me (jk I love rotaries)
oh yeah and i painted the wheels bronze for fun.

Fixed all that, then things started to get kinda cool.

Found some cheap, wide wheels that I liked, and picked up a beat up BN kit off of a buddy.
Also picked up some KYB coilovers and a 12mm spacer to clear the 10 up front.
My homie Blake (that gay nigga with the v8's and stuff <3) hooked me up on some tires to mount on the wheels. Thanks brotha! Car was looking better and pretty much how it looks today.

My dad hooking it up with a windshield wash at the gas station haha.

Did my first VegasDrift practice event in the car, blew up some hoses and had some troubles that day, but got a few decent runs in towards the end of the day. Overall awesome time and was able to get some seat time.
Dat fire extinguisher to make it official lol

Didn't really get any sliding photos unfortunately, the practice course was pretty far from the actual proam course haha.

Broke my bumper /:
LV Racing Scene got this coming out of the parade lap at least lmao

Did a some of safety mods to the engine and did some block off plates/emission deletes/ etc. and finally got a new bumper on when I came down to visit last.
This is how it currently sits. Don't worry, I'll be painting it soon, still trying to decide on color, might just stay white. (opinions?) I'll be working on it a bunch over summer hopefully so I'll try and keep this updated!

Thanks for reading guys!
Cheers,
Lorenzo
