  • redrilling BBS RS, 5x114.3 to 4x114.3

    ok, simple question

buying a set of 5x114.3 RS's, intend on putting them on a 4x114.3 car (provided all goes to plan..)

but that brings me to my question. are the RS centres shaped in such a manner that they're flat all the way around, or are they cast into a 5 stud pattern?

if anyone has some pics of the mounting face of an RS centre that would be awesome

    cheers!

My RS's, they're 4x114.3 redrilled to 4x100. Hope this helps

You'll need to see the back of the wheels to be able to tell if you can redrill from 5 lug to 4 lug. If the backs are flat it can be done. If the backs are pocket cut you won't be able to do it unfortunately. Get some pics of the back and post them up.

Yeah, i haven't get the rims as yet, hence asking the question about the way the centres are cast

seeing the guy above with the redrilled set I would assume they're flat backed, but that said, the 5 stud centres may be pocket cast

i guess i'll find out when i get them though

We can redrill *most* wheels when keeping the number of bolts the same 4 to 4 or 5 to 5. When you want to redrill a 5 lug wheel to 4 lug the back of the wheel has to be totally flat it can't have pockets cut in the part of the wheel that mounts to the hub. Also when redrilling from 5 to 4 or 4 to 5 you'll want a wheel that has a cover for the lugs like a BBS RS, Style 5, OZ turbo, etc so it can hide the redrilling.

Here's a few examples of wheels we have redrilled or dual drilled.

                      Dual drilled 5x120 and 5x112

Originally 4x108 we welded them up, reshaped the pockets on face then drilled to 4x100

Originally was 5x120. We redrilled and steel inserted it to 5x112

How much do you guys usually charge to redrill? Just a rough esti is fine, I'm just wondering if its really worth it to buy another wheel that might be cheap then redrill it..
