  • I guess I'll join the fun (minitruck content)

Hello StanceWorks, I'd like to show the progress on my 2000 S10.

I bought the truck about a year and a half ago from the original owner with 93k. 2.2 engine with a glorious autotragic

    Dat gap...

So like after a month I ordered a generic 3"/4" drop kit (I **** that term) from DJM suspension which consists of 2" drop spindles, 1" spring, and 4" blocks. Well unfortunately I was totally oblivious to spring compressors to I was rocking a 2"/4" drop for way too long. Here's some pics of ugly reverse rake:

So because I'm too cheap to buy or rent a spring compressor I waited til I could borrow one from a coworker. At this point I had a set ZQ8s to use for the winter so I put those on.

At this point i felt like the truck was really coming together and i was pretty excited with the changes i made. While doing all that I also did rotors/pads, lower ball joint, sway bar links, idler arm, and added a set of Belltech drop shocks. Made a huge difference in the overall feel of the truck. I also ditched the stock valence for a 94-97 valence.

Not entirely sure how I feel about it yet.

After hanging out with a few other guys with trucks lower than me I convinced myself to go lower.

So ThorBros bolt in notch, Belltech 3" leafs, and DJM 3" springs are all sitting in my room right now and with any luck they should be getting put on this weekend. So stay tuned...

As a kid with a thing for s10s, and i mean a HUGE thing, i am super excited to see what happens to this. It would be sweet if you put some wheels meant to be on a BMW on this thing, as the bolt pattern is the same.

I whole-heartidly agree with your logic. I'm just trying to find the right deal. It does require a little bit of modification to clear the grease cap that goes over the hub, and the center bore sizing is a bit different but who knows

I have a love for s10s for reasons i don't understand. Yours is looking awesome i'm excited to see it looks after the next drop. Personally I like the original front valence but the new one does add some uniqueness. If I were you i would just think about putting a lip on the original valence. Any ideas about wheels for when the warmer weather rolls around?

A little update, I have the c-notches in place right now and I'm working on relocating my evap canister right now. Also one of my 4" blocks is cracked so I'm going to order 3" steel ones while I use autozone blocks for now. Should be back on the ground today I'll have pictures up tonight

So I ended up having to torch the shit out of everything to get it all free. But everything's together and I just drove it home from my work (20 miles) with no issues.

Took off the bed, obviously it couldn't be done with the bed on. Relocated the evap to the gas tank cross member.

These are the blocks that were in my truck before the drop. 4" angled blocks from DJM. Should've known better than getting aluminum blocks but they held up for a year so out they go.

C-notches plug welded, bolted, and panel bonded into place

Ecoated and undercoated the notch and bare metal around it. Got the Belltech leafs in with temporary auto zone 3" blocks til I get JTR blocks with pinion shims.

                      3" coils vs. 1" coils

                      And all back together!

As far as wheel fitment goes that TBD I want to see what I can and can't get away with for the time being. Wheels will be ordered some time this week.

So yeah I'm going to take it apart again this weekend because I don't think my coils are installed properly lol. Reverse raking hard which doesn't make sense it should sit level. Oh well not surprised I didn't mess something up haha

Little update, I didn't get a chance to get my springs correctly in place because of this

My exhaust was touching the ground here and it was stuck on an ice patch. It took us about an hour and half to get it unstuck and I was left with a nice exhaust leak.

                            Random pic

And in more important news my wheels showed up today

18x9.5 et 15. I plan on test fitting them tomorrow to see how big of a spacer I need but I already have 1" spacers so I should be right where I need to be

Initial test fit was a success, just need extended studs and tires
