  • Static BMW E60 from Belgium (picture heavy)

    Hey there,
I've been reading here for a long time, now i've decided to start my own topic.

My name is Jeroen, but since childhood i've been called Jerome, hence the nickname. Born in 1989 so no further explanation needed

My first car was an Alfa Romeo 156 1.9 diesel. Never really did much to it, just complete respray, lowered and wheels.

After 3 years of trying to keep it running I decided it was time to let her go and buy a reliable car, so I bought my current car.
    2008 BMW E60 525D (Diesel). Stock 197 hp, 400 NM torque (295 lb-ft).

First of all, I needed some new wheels because I bought the car with winter tyres in June... So i found a set of staggered OEM Style 95's 19x9 and 19x10

Sadly they where matte black, wich I never really liked. After a while i sold them and replaced them with a replica set of Style 128's 19x9 and 19x10.

That winter it was time to get a set of coilovers. I went with KW V1 inox line.

Once winter was gone I put the style 128 back on, with just enough room left

Some details added to the front

I was pretty happy with the result for a while, but the more I looked around, the more I saw everybody who does something to their E60 around here either has style 95 or style 128... So i decided it was time to start looking for something else. In the meantime did some small comsetic updates. Yellow fog lights and stickerbombing the rear window

Then found some Schnitzer type IV wheels in 19 inch. Bought them, threw them on and immediatly decided to put the old wheels back. They really looked like shit fore some reason. Never even took a picture :P

After that i traded the style 128 for a set of Breyton GTS Race.

Ofset values weren't for a 5 series, and i didn't want mile wide spacers so I traded these again for a set of style 172M reps 8.5x19 and 9.5x19. Again a wheel everybody has, so i painted them white. I wasn't sure at first but once I threw those on, i was in love with the color combo

Really happy with the way this turned out.

In the meantime it was time to get a little extra out of the engine. I did a DPF+kat delete (Diesel filter) and went for a remap. Just this small update gave it 275 HP with 600 nm (442.5 lb-ft). At the moment I'm looking to get some extra, so I got an intercooler from an F10 535D. I'm trying to modify it to fit, once I've done that I'm either getting a turbo upgrade or a bigger turbo for it.

Since this summer i've got some new wheels (again). This time I wanted something special. After a lot of searching for a rim with quite a lot of canocave, I came across VIP Modular. Ordered a staggered set of VIP Modular VRC13 in 8,5x19 and 10,5x19 in super white.

Right now winter started in Belgium. The style 172M's are now painted what should be bronze but turned out almost purple for some reason.

My goals for the future with this car :
I want to get a bit more stanced. I don't really like the tucked look. To me it looks like this car is literally sitting on it's ass when I tuck the rear wheels. I 'm looking to get a more agressive look, wheels coming out. It's a bit of figuring out what spacers i need, whether or not to roll the fenders out.
And of course more power. And maybe if I find something, new wheels because I'm a bit of a wheelwhore :P

    That's all for now.

Thanx I'm trying to give it some more wideness but at this height I can't get wider without rubbing the hell out of the tires. If I turn, the body is literally stuck on the tires so I'm trying to figure it out

Looking forward to see what you're gonna do whith yours!

The white/ black was never a look I was fond of. I wish the wheels were something more subtle. The headlights are too blue for me as well. But I still enjoy the big bodies of the e60's. Good looking car man.

Lights come out a lot more blue in the pictures then in real life They're actually white but due to quite a lot of photoshop they turned out blue

                  Well, this happened...

Luckily the camber in the rear prevented the face of the wheel to be damaged So next update : powdercoating the rims :P The back of the rim has some minor damage and all around the wheels have some minor rubbing damage.

I'm considering bronze as a new color, but I guess the white is going to stay for now.
Also ordered a new set of spacers an bolts, and some new tires.
                  Falken FK453 215 35 up front, FK453 245 30 in the rear.

Any idea how/why the tyres came off of the rim? Tyre pressure get too low?

Combination of low pressure and the fact that they where used tyres that got stretched to the max My own fault for being cheap. The tyres I got for the rear where already a little bit damaged on the inner wall when I got them. A while back I noticed some air escaping via the wall.
