• s13 & sc300 slow build

Hello,
My name is scott, I am new here, I am working on two cars at the moment. one is a 1993 sc300 and one is a 1993 240sx coupe. the s13 is much more of a project, whereas the sc300 is actually drivable and I practice drifting with it regularly. That said, I still do have plans for the sc300 that should take place soon.

S13: I bought it a few months ago, not motor/trans or harness and missing other things. needed body work, has rear overfenders, everything in engine bay was oversprayed flat black
plans for s13: clean engine bay with everything tucked, l28 with flat top su's with a 71b from early s13, megan coils (got with car) and some other junk, ill figure it out later on)
(Pictures are where it is right now)

Sc300: bought it, done next to nothing to it other than welded diff.

Im terrible with technology, and I was unable to resize the pictures to upload them, so for not I will just do links to flickr, seems to work easiest for me

I put in a picture of the header, I dont feel like digging out the carbs and manifold

the wheels i bought off craigslist 2 days ago, for a good deal, I drove a distance for them, theyle be going on the lexus, yes, 16s, I know most people will **** it but I like the old school styling

*figure out i was getting the wrong links

half of the car is in the trunk

16x8 with some high offset (will be re-lipped)

and the lexus, pretty boring

update
the lexus has some problem with it that I am going to try to figure out, it occasionally goes into a state when accelerating where it starts jerking. that means both cars are out of commission at the moment

s13 paint

I painted the front of the chassis blue, I think it should go well with the red motor and polished valve cover, I think I will keep the head unpainted

more updates to come soon, hopefully, I should finish up the motor and finish modifying the front xmember and lcas and othe components to work together well

thanks

i test fitted it earlier, its snug for sure but it fits
I think it should look pretty neat with carbs. I am going to be doing the whole car with old school styling
I am staring the reassembly process now

i forgot to add, the sc300 is now driving fine, I took apart the intake manifold to check the plugs and they were fine, but by doing that and reassembling it I think it fixed the issue just by unplugging and reconnecting the TPS wire/plug

I always loved the sound of L28's. Maybe triple side draft mikuni's and a 2.5" straight pipes would make it a beast.
Then again so would a 3.1 stroker kit, but those cost major bucks.

read

It helped me out a lot when working on my friends l28 s130.

thats a helpful link, thanks. I looked through a couple l28 rebuild web pages like that before I started the rebuild, theyre quite helpful

and yeah, Im thinking of running a straight pipe back from the header, maybe a couple of bends in it just to get it to fit and tuck up well along the bottom of the car

Im just going with an OEM rebuild with the exception of the carbs and header

I am looking for a new head for my car cause my head was caked in sludge, and IM just going to to part it out and sell it and get one in decent shape

if someone who knows bbs rs could answer this question, that would be awesome

I bought two bbs rs wheels in 5x114.3 from a guy with an integra, although Im not sure if he used them on his car because I thought integras were 4 lug and I forgot to look at his

anyways, I was wondering
1) what lug nut type to I need?
2) do I need hub-centric rings?

I am using them on a 1993 lexus (5x114.3)

thanks

bbs rs question

I have a 1993 sc300 (5x114.3) pattern. I have 2 bbs rs in 5x114.3 that I just bought. I was wondering

1) what type of lug nuts to use? (acorn style or other)
2) will I need hubcentric rings?

thanks
scott

if I want to run a small slip on spacer, is there a type that will seat the wheel correctly on the hub?
any suggestions/ideas help

the following is every number/word on the wheel (under where the center cap)
8jx16 H2ET40
PAD Nr.
RS343
137
09.92
91
BBS GERMANY
663228
GESCHMIEDET

I know most of that is unnecessary, however I am unfamiliar with bbs wheels and I have no Idea what the part number is

thanks for the help

flickr.com/photos/54513911@N02/8110919561/in/photostream

i think im am doing to buy a caliper tool and check the bore of the wheels and the bore of the hub, so that should answer one of my questions

tuner style nuts should be fine.

if you get the spacers from Adaptec you wont need hubcentric rings

the BBS part number is RS343. if you contact BBS or go to a wheel repair shop they can measure it for you.

wow, thanks for the help. u seem to know your stuff for sure
Im either going to contact bbs or people say that you can measure it with one of the digital caliper tools, hopefully I can rent one somewhere.
do they sell just hubcentric rings too? I realized that I am probably not going to want any more spacing out of the wheel. Ill try to find their website to contact them

thanks

they do sell just hubcentric rings, i dont know what websites do other than this one - http://www.nlmotoring.com/category-s/1539.htm

i haven't looked it up/done much research into it since i got my hubs milled out to my hub size.

sorry if my answers seemed really short and assholish yesterday i had a huge headache but i wanted to help too lol

haha, no not at all, youve been the only person that could help and i asked the questions on two forums

anyways, i think im going to try to measure that size of the wheel and also the lexus hub.
however, if I could find actual sizes online or somewhere, I feel like they would be better than my measurements
