  • Project "Bibo" - another Audi A2

    Hey Guys,

after reading Nagah's Thread i decided to start my own project thread.

My car is an Audi A2. Build in 2004. Standard equipted with
    • Sportsteeringwheel,
    • Sportgear
    • Sporthandbreak
    • 16" Audi alloy wheels
    • Radio Chorus II
    • 6x CD-Charger
    • Doubled load floar in the Back
    • Foglamps

I decided to add some things, At first i bought Weitec sportcoilovers and springs. The car should get 30 mm lower but it didn´t work very well...Additionally i bougt 7,5x17 Alloy wheels with an offset of 30 from "Schmidt". I like them and so i decided to at some 5mm spacers at the back wheels. it looked awesome but for me it wasn't low enough... Here is a Picture

After a long time i had saved enough money to buy new coilovers and springs from KW (Variant 1). It's a adjustable set and i lowered "Bibo" a lot

At this point its streetlegal, drivable and i like the look The streets are not that good at my way to work :/

I also build in a Alpine CDA 117RI Headunit, threw the CD Charger out and add a Subwoofer with an 500 Watts Amp.

    Plans for the future?
    • 16" Winter alloy wheels
    • New amp and speakers in the front and in the rear
    • Bodykit for the Audi A2
    • Recaro seets
    • Upgrade the breaks to 312mm at the Front

    i hope you liked it

    --somthing to add--

Bibo is the german name for "Big Bird" from the Sesame Street

Yeah dude! Welcome to Stance|Works! I would have never thought about seeing another A2 in here.

    Stay classy!

Reminds me of the sonic yellow color from WRX's. I would say do some te37 style wheels with a slight stretch, make some eye liners for those headlights to make them look more aggressive and a small front lip.

The closest te37 style wheels that I know of are the Rota grid race. Unluckily they aren't available in the right size in Germany.

I just checked: They are available in 7,5x17 offset 48 which is waaaaaay to much positive offset. This would require an 18mm spacer which is very expensive to get TÜV approved (actually going without spacers at all would be best and cheapest). Does anyone know any other te37 reps available to German bois?

            ---EDIT---

Just went curious about why to take replicas...I found a swiss shop that provides Volk wheels and this would cost 3400EUR (~4300US $)..WTF?!

This is a very unique platform and I don't think you have tapped into its full potential. With that said, I think your on the right track, but it needs tweaking of somesort otherwise its just another car lowered on black wheels.

This car was introduced in the year 2000 in Germany as a highly fuel efficient car with very flexible interior. However even the Germans laughed about it, saying that 3 cylinder diesel and small 4 cylinder petrol engines are a shame for Audi. So Audi stopped production in 2005 and didn't even think about exporting it to other countries. And if even the Germans are laughing about this car, could you imagine what the Americans would do?

But now the used car prices are pretty high because today (12 years later) seems the right time for small efficient light cars (it's frame, hood and trunk lid is made of aluminium (expensive!) so the average weight is below 1000kg/2200lbs).

Well but too late, it seems Audi is not interested in a proper successor for this little goodie.

A weird update but an update

I decided to repaint my rims at the winter. The middle Part (at the moment glossy-black) should be Mat-Black and the outer Part (Polished) stayed remains polished. That, i think, should be a cool look. My Winter wheels (16" Audi Alloys), oh yeah crappy wheels, will be painted* next summer.

                      better than nothing :P

                      Stay tuned!
