  • Volvo 242 Turbo, 16v turbo, widebody, Rota wheels++

Well, this is my little projekt.. Been working on it for a couple of years now, starting to see the end on the fabricting part of the bodywork atleast!

What im doing to the old volvo:

    Body and interior
    - Widebody, 8cm each side rear and 3 cm each side on the frontend!
    - Rota GTR-D wheels, 18x9,5 with 265/35 tires and 18x12 rear with 335/30 tires!
    - Adjustable coilover`s, Low is good as you know
    - Home made front and rear bumper
    - Home made rear difuser (spellcheck??)
    - Custom hood with vents, need to get that hot air out!
    - Lexan windows rear and sides
    - Carbon dash with Stack gauges!
    - 2 Sparco pro 2000 seats with takata 4 point harness
    - Rollcage
    - No carpet and.. anything really, just dash, seats and the most necessary!
    - Cleand engineroom, all wiring will be hidden
    - Stock LSD rear diff
    - Custom lowering blocks for the steering and lower arms in the front
    - Wilwood gt 6000 breaks, from the Roush nascar team!

    Engine
    - 2,3 L block from a 240
    - 16V head from 740 glt, ported
    - Custom Cams
    - Switcher s300 turbo or EFR
    - Custom Intake
    - Custom manifold
    - New engine internals
    - BW t5 gearbox
    - 3" stainless exhoust, custom

Well, lets just say that everything is custom, and i take pride in making almost everything myself!

The engine when done should put out about 700 -750 hp, and 900+ nm!

AND the most important part, the pic`s!

Well, hope you guys like my projekt and sorry for my suckiness in english!

and, ill be back, with more and better pic`s soon

Well i already know how it will looks. Got to search some picture with a blue Volvo 2 doors, somewhere in my old PC. But honestly i got the feeling that this will be a racing car, powerfull and grotesque [brute]. Sell those Rotas on some drift forum and buy BBS or something more elegant. That will work imho.

It will look like a racing car, but as low as i can get it! And it will be a registerd road car!

about the rotas, i like the look on this car.. dont get me wrong, i love the bbs wheels.. but there is like a million cars in norway with the bbs style wheels!

I have seen a few 242s built somwhat similar.. but i have also lifted the rear wheel bow 5 cm o get it lower and i also extended the rear fenders 5 cm down! I have also welded all the holes for the chrome trim, so the sides of the car will be clean!

In my humble opinion, could I please recommend a set of panasport, Ul's they would honestly suit the race theme you are going for perfectly in my opinion, as they would render the form, as well as the function.

either way I am sooo exited for this build thread, wish I had a volvo 242!

Wow, when complete, this thing is going to be baller as fuck.

I'm hoping to god that you plan on taking this thing to some track days?

Funtington: well, i am thinking of buying a set of wheels, for track use.. The pirelli p-zero corsa in 335/30/18 is a little expensive just to make some lockal fog

Have my eyes on the Vorsteiner V 308! I love the designe and as they custom make them, its posible to get the in my offset, (et20 + 60mm spacer on the 12" rota)

But, thats not so important now, need to get the bodywork done first.. and get som paint on the car! Thinking of the new dark gray they use on porsche 997, link:

                      Lt. Dangle

ofcourse ill take it to trackdays! And i might even try some dragracing

Drag racing would be cool, but if set up properly, I think this thing would absolutely shine on a roadcourse.
