I'm new to the Stanceworks forum but have been playing close attention to many of the fantastic builds over the years, as well as the inspirational good vibes that always seem to come from this site.
Anyway... got me a 24,000mile 1986 VW Passat that my mate Ryan rescued from a Breakers yard here in the UK. The old lady who used to own the car had been told by the DVLA (department of vehicle licensing) that she was unfortunately no longer fit to drive due poor eyesight. Upon hearing this she took to the car to my buddies scrapyard and tried to weigh it for scrap value.
As soon as Ryan saw the car he apparently got underneath it and started having a poke around before realising that the mileage (24164 miles) seemed geniune and it was backed up by a folder of paperwork. Rather than see the car meet it's fate with the crusher he opted to pay his boss for the PassRat, as it's now affectionately known, and sold it to me as soon as he'd put 12months MOT on it (UK road worthiness test!)
The rest, as they say, is history. Initially all I wanted to do was a subtle drop on springs wth some nice wheels, but another mate, Geoff Skinner, who runs HAVAIR UK slowly talked me into the idea a basic 4-way electronic valve air ride setup. Here's the result of lthe ast month or so -
