Many of you have been wondering why we moved out to California and what we’ve been doing this whole time…It’s time to give you the answer:
2 years ago, this community and the passion for automobiles brought 3 men together from across the country. With talents and visions that complimented each other perfectly, they grew as close friends and as a team. It became clear that they all had something to say, and a passion that needed to be expressed.
If there is anything we’ve been pushing as a website in 2011, it has been that this scene is as much about the people that make it up as it is about the cars. Sometimes we share the stories of new faces, bringing to light the fresh ideas and builds they are contributing to the scene. However, sometimes we share the stories of those who have helped build the scene we know and love.
As most of us station ourselves at desks in front of our computers and peruse the latest threads on our favorite forums or check the newest fitment blog updates, it’s easy to lose sight of the people and personalities that lie behind each car. Behind each car is a builder with an unquestionable passion for cars just like you and me.
This past Saturday, Andrew and I were invited out by Matt and Brad @ fifteen52 to go see Ken Block perform at a special edition of his Gymkhana World Tour. Why “so special” you ask? Because Mr. Block (of DC Shoe fame) unveiled this:
What you are looking at is Ken’s latest race-car, aimed at participating in all 3 various racing circuits, aptly named the “Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle.
See that guy? The one with the ridiculous beard? That’s Cory Hutchison, and he’s the best damn Honda kid out there. I’m sure there will be repercussions for saying that later, but we’re going to continue anyway.
