not new to this site and have made previous threads about this car, but they always end up in a mess, so here's my final attempt lmao.
It starts with a 2006 honda civic ex.
would of gotten an si but it was a grad gift, still very thankful for it either way.
originally didn't have any plans for it, i just wanted to enjoy being stock for a bit, but things change lol.
first mod skunk 2 megapower catback.
install was a breeze and sounds great.
Later down the road i decide to purchase some red "typeR" emblems $85 shipped from
grafiXpressions.
pretty much half a year goes by and i end up racking up some wheels and parts.
pictured below are 17x9.5 cobra r's +56 that i got for a whoppin $50
godspeed mono rs coilovers that i got from a buddy in PA for $300
two 32mm spacerz, and some work lugs.
some time goes by and i finally find some time to put on my coilovers with my buddies, and ofcourse with every car thing something just has to go wrong.
since i bought them used the lockrings were seized up pretty bad and had no way to adjust them the way i wanted to. so i put my stock suspension back on and called it a night.
took the coilovers to my job the next day and took them apart, cleaned em up, rebuilded them and essentially made them look brand fucking new. (moreshitphonepictures)
i was stoked with the progress i made with them, and they were finally ready to go on. just needed to find some time ofcourse.
NOW about the cobra R's. i absolutely love the wheels, but what i didn't like about them was that 3 wheels were +56 and one was +24. it just didn't make sense to me to have 3 fat ass spacers and one regular wheel.
so i kinda said bye bye to them
i ended up trading this guy in annapolis for some eagle alloys 17x7 +45 with tires already.
yes i know the specs on these wheels are lame but they're temporary.
finally find some time to put my coilovers on, and they bolted on perfectly no problems at all.
had some terrible rake at first. fronts were tucking stocks and the rear pretty much looked higher than stock. but i was happy to finally have them on.
the ride was surprisingly well and was very happy, felt good.
a couple weeks go by and i decide to clean up the wheels with the mrs (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
didn't like the silver look much, so i said fuck it, i'll dip them white.
don't mind the over spray, i was lazy okay, cry about it
Put them next to the car just to see a what they would would look like and i couldn't wait to put them on.
a week goes by and decide to slap the wheels on at work.
i was inlove with my car all over again.
just needed to lower my rears a ton more and i'd be happy.
Drove around with the ugly rake for awhile since i never have time to do anything.
finally one dead Saturday at work i took advantage and brought my car in.
huge shout out to my coworkers for always helping me out, rad guys.
rear came down about an inch and a half, my car got stuck on the lift lmao
i honestly wish i went lower, but i won't go any lower until i get a rad set of wheels.
final product.
huge shouty to my boy erik for helping me out a ton with all the shit i do to my car.
here's his rad vdub, i'lll convince him to get on here sooner or later.
as for the civic, my goal was to have it kinda low by panda junction, which is actually next weekend. so i'm stoked i achieved that.
but here's a preview of some things to come after panda.
- camber kit
-wider radder set of wheels
-lower my rears more
-windows tinted
-alignment.
that's it for now, thanks for reading guys!
