Hello everyone. i am in the process of acquiring a set of 17" Super Advan SA3 wheels in a 2 piece configuration with a removal face. Sizing is obviously not ideal so my intention is to convert them to a 3 piece setup. Now i have 2 options as far as i know.
1. Purchase new inner barrels, lips, and bolts. (Quoted almost 2k in parts)
2. Purchase new lips and bolts, attempt to lathe my current outers into the rear barrels
I've heard of people converting OEM 2 piece BMW wheels the same way. Is there anything specific i should know going about option 2? It seems worth a shot since if it does not work i would need to purchase inner barrels anyway. The possibility of saving almost $900 is alluring.
Here are the wheels
And this is my 82 Celica i'm currently bagging and building said wheels for
