  • A Leased Jetta on 3-Piece Style 19's

Found a few locations for a shoot with my friend Eric. Yes it's a lease. Yes it's notched.

So you're going to buy it after your lease is up? No way they will take that car back with a notched frame.

As soon as I saw this, I was like, this looks like a lease. Then, when you said it was notched, I was like...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Naw. j/k. But seriously, the thing looks badass. And they'll take it back with a notched frame because they won't know it has a notched frame. Lease inspectors are older balding guys in failed marriages that look at a lot of porn and inspect for excessive wear and the proper amount of keys...or, chunky women with no shape...but they do the same thing. If you don't tell them the frame is notched, they'll likely never know. But, kudos on him not being a crudball and planning to get over.

That's CRAZY! How will you set it up when you have to give it back???

he can return it as long as everything is back to stock. both my edges are leases. the first one had bags and debadged and i returned it with h&r springs and they had no idea. just make sure the outside is nice and the interior and they wont have a problem heheh.

Not the point. Getting away with something and doing something extremely irresponsible are two different things.

Taking off a few mods you added to a leased vehicle before returning it is fine. Even leaving your upgraded springs is fine IMO.

Notching the frame of a vehicle and then not disclosing this with the owner is extremely immoral. Some parents' might buy this vehicle for their child based on the safety ratings Volkswagen has with no idea that the frame has literally been cut.

You ever try and crush a beer can when its perfectly straight compared to when you put a little indent on the side? Yeah, that.

The frame is a major structural component of the vehicle and it has purposefully been cut and weakened to allow suspension components to go into it.

Again if you are keeping the vehicle then whatever. Dope. If you owned the vehicle and sold it on the forums with a build thread and the next owner knew it was notched then again, whatever.

If you return this vehicle without disclosing anything and the next owner buys this from the dealer with 0 insight then I'd say that's pretty F'd up on your part.

I agree. I think when he notched his frame, that was the turning point that he was going to buy it instead of hand it back in. He originally got it for a daily because he had a shaved MK3 that he wanted to keep for a show car, but naturally the mod bug caught him and now he's keeping it.
