Been told to start a thread on this, so here goes.
June 2014 is where the story of my Escort (the green one) begins. Got it delivered from London, here it is with the rest of the fleet at the time. Sad fact about this photo is that all the other cars in it are gone now
So as soon as it was here I began to strip out the inside, Escorts and old Fords are notorious for rust and rot.
Never spent too much time on it though because I was mucking about with this.
Picked up where I left off with the Escort in January, gave her a 2" drop all round.
Painted the wheels since they looked a bit..
Finished the engine bay (lots of rust/rot/etc)
Then I bought some banded steels, the fronts weren't wide enough though.
Put some tires on a pair of ET0 Wellers I had laying around, put the wide steels on the front and those on the back. Problem solved
All the while I was trying to get the damn thing running again, replaced bit by bit in attempts to get it started but in the end it was just 1 little fuse
This meant it left my house for the first time in a few months. Rolling on the original wheels then, can't remember why. I did the tires too, if you don't like them then because I love em haha
Bonnet was still off while I was finishing a few little bits off. Got some strange looks but it was also pretty awesome
Got all the electrics working
Took it for an MOT in a wildly unsuccessful attempt to get it legally on the road. Failed (few boring bits), and ran out of fuel on the way home
Since I was driving the Escort, I got my old man to drive my R5 to tow me home. Not the best tow vehicle haha! Both of these cars have under 100bhp combined. Small light cars are great fun though. (they're both waaay under 1000kgs)
Just to redeem myself a little, my 5 pictured above now looks like this if you haven't already seen:
What's next for the Escort?
Well, a battery, since the one it has doesn't stay charged for more than a few hours. Needs some fuel again too haha. Should run again after both of those things are done.
After that, just need to do things mentioned on the MOT sheet. I'd love it finished by summer,
