I've been browsing forever, figured I'd make an account since I needed to PM someone in the wheel classifieds.
After totaling my 2013 GTI this spring, I have picked up three cars. Wife drives a MK7 GTI Autobahn (will be Unitronic stage 1 and windows done next week, next plan is slight drop on coils and wheels once she chooses them).
I have a 1984 Rabbit L as a daily, the big project is my 1981 Rabbit truck diesel.
1984 has a 2.0ABA, coils, techtonics catless exhaust, smoked crosshairs, hella horns, BFI aero shift knob, porsche OMP race wheel, lots of minor stuff. Just got my year end bonus so stuff ordered is on its way:
- small chrome bumpers
- chrome mirrors
- paint for a rust free hatch
- hatch emblems
- short runner intake manifold
- eurosport rear bar and front strut brace
- cabby center console with oil pressure/oil temp/voltmeter
Planned stuff:
- upgraded front seats
- convert interior to black, black/gray/red GTI seat fabric (maybe; undecided)
- hide stereo in glovebox, upgrade audio components
- summer wheels!
- 200mm rear brake drums and upgraded parking brake
- short shifter
- more appropriate steering wheel!
Plans for the Caddy:
VR6 swap until I can do a 2.0TDI; need to get it running though so that I can daily it while changing some things up on the Rabbit.
- Euro front end conversion with quad rounds
- Airlift suspension with 4link conversion
- Vinyl wrap after bodywork is done (primer and seal body, then as yet undecided metallic wrap. Wanted to do purple for fun but wife is not liking it, so it'll probably be a brighter shade of blue.)
I'll be starting the build threads shortly, once parts begin to arrive!
