Hey guys im new to this forum, an im guessing this is the right stop to post.
So lets begin, as we speak im buying 87 corolla sedan. An im really here to find out some answer to my questions.
1. Is an 87' considered an "e80"?
2. When installing coilovers is it pretty much plug&play?
3. Are the lug patterns 4x100?

There are some Toyota Corolla Forums that would probably help you more for specifics. I used them to help my son with his 2001 Corolla. Try toyotanation.com. They have all the generations broken down. Also corollaforum.com. His was 4x100. As for the rest I can't answer for the year you have.
