  • What attracts you to Stance? (Help contribute to my research!)

    Hi Everyone,

So I'm currently a student at the University of Michigan conducting research on Stance/Hellaflush culture, mostly examining it's origins and why it is so popular amongst car enthusiasts today. What I am curious to know from you all is what aspects of Stance attract you the most and why do you think you all are so attracted to this particular form of modification over others? Also, what is your reaction to the ban on Hellaflush cars that took place earlier this year in Quebec?

Feel free to message me with any questions or comments if you'd prefer. Thanks a lot.

    today?

i've been going to lowered car shows since the 90's (maybe low/lowered cars didn't catch up as fast with mainstream US)

also i'm not in it because of stance, i just like cars that don't have wheelgap

    also don't call it stance!

All i can say, cars look better when lowered to the ground.
      But that's just my opinion

That ban in Quebec is gayer than AIDs.

I cringe when people use "stance" as a noun.

research-wise you should check out the jdm lowrider scene, have a look at manga such as shakotan boogie and wangan midnight - theyve been doing this 'stance' lowering/widening/wheelgapkilling thing longer than the west.

Personally I think every gearhead has a specific taste in how they like to modify vehicles. Some like to go fast, some like to hit the track, some people like 4x4's, some people like slammed cars on wide wheels, and the list goes on. Something about low fitted cars just drew me to StanceWorks. I think any car lowered on some nice wheels can look good. Simple as that.

I've always loved lowered cars and trucks, but ever since the addition of the wide wheels it's been even better.

i love it because its another form of car modification. for years people have always gone low, or fast. but in this day an age, I'm speaking of US because japan has been doing it forever, i love seeing people push the limits to what their cars can do. either its extreme camber, stupid horsepower, unbelievably low or whatever it may be.

when i see something thats not normal i can respect it, even if i disagree with it completely or just **** it, i still have respect for it since its not the "norm" and its something others won't do.

I've always liked being the different one and thats one of the small reasons as to why i wanted to be apart of it, that and I've always been in love with cars in general.

hoped i helped, good luck on your research!

I like low cars because they look aXazing. A lack of wheel gap siXly makes a car look better.
