  • Do decent BBS RS replicas exist?

I want to buy are BBS RS rims for my E21.
I know that the 'real deal' is the best, but also very expensive (even used).
I can't afford those at the moment unfortunately...

So, I was wondering if there are BBS RS replicas that are decent quality.
I saw that ESM, Konig and Dare make them.
Does anyone have experience with those?
Are there more brands that make replicas?

Are you dying for RS replicas specifically? The reason I ask is that the used market is filled with lots of quality mesh wheels for much less insane prices than RSs. I see Epsilon Southern Way Mesh on here all the time for great prices.

Also, FYI, there is a set of RS001s that need a refinish in 4x100 in the classifieds right now for $1600. That's not half bad for the real thing.

EDIT: There's also a set of Kings in 4x100 in the classifieds for 500 Euros that would look fantastic on an E21.

      Thanks for the reaction!

      Those Kings look really good!
      It's a shame they are 15" and not 16".

I do like that style of rim.
Is there maybe a list with rims that are Mesh/RS style?

      EDIT:
I can't find anything about those King rims on Google...
Is King the name of the brand or do you maybe know the site of the brand?

I was looking for mesh wheels that look kinda similar to BBS RS rims.
Then I found the Rotiform LHR (flat) rims.
Those look perfect in my opinion, but are not 16" and too expensive...
Does anyone know rims that are cheaper and available in 16" that look similar?

I'm not aware of any such list. If someone were to write a comprehensive list of all the mesh wheels ever made, it would stretch to the moon and back. There are zillions.

I may be wrong, but I don't think King still exists as a company, and hasn't for a while. In any case, their wheels are rather rare - you'll see them pop up every once-in-a-while, but it seems that they specialized in more avant-garde styles that now look either really outdated or retro-cool depending on how you look at it.

Consider also in your search Enkei. They made eleventy kabillion mesh style wheels over the ages, and they tend to be fairly reasonable in price.

            Thanks again for the help!
That makes it clear why I couldn't find much about those King rims.
I will check out Enkei now.

            EDIT:
I really like the Enkei 92, but as far as I see they only come in 15".
If they would be 16", they would be perfect!

            2ND EDIT:
I just saw that they do exist in 16".
They are not on the site of Enkei though...
So maybe they are a bit older.

Has anyone any experience with ESM 002R wheels?
If so, are they a good rim to use until I find a set of real BBS RS rims?

Look at jncwheels.com. I know they only make reps, but I have a set and love them. Search for them on ebay, they're much cheaper. I've had them on a heavy car with small tires and no issues. Their stuff is good quality for what you pay. That's the route I would take to make sure you want a set of the real things.

I am a student, so that would be a long time of saving.
Also it can take a long time to find the right size and then restore them.
I don't want to run on stock wheels until then.

I am from Europe, so those rims aren't too expensive to ship.
What would it cost (just an indication) to restore them?

do you have any skills yourself? can you sand? polish? paint?

                        If so, its inexpensive.

If not, then buy your reps.

No... I don't have any of that skills.
So I guess I have to go with reps.

Now is the question, what are the best reps?
This is a short list of brands I found that make reps:
                          - ESM
                          - JNC
                          - Dare
                          - Rota
                          - Lenso

Any of these brands any good/decent?
