It runs and drives great! I'm a firm believer in maintenance being paramount to looks. . .I'm also incredibly OCD when it comes to things working properly.
That being said, the water-pump/timing belt was changed at 120k (before I picked it up), VCG changed, oil filter housing gasket changed, oil pan gasket changed, fuel filter changed when I bought it, plugs changed at 131k, fuel pump and level sensor replaced, N75 and N249 valves have been replaced to the latest revision, along with all 4 coil packs.
The only things that I can think of that are wrong with it are that the LCD cluster is missing a LOT of pixels and it's pretty annoying. It also reads that I get like. . .200mpg sometimes. Which would be awesome, but is totally untrue since the Flux Capacitor is disabled. The oil return line also needs to be replaced. It's leaking a bit. I have the part, but don't have the initiative to change it.
Since the car is running a MK4 Jetta ECU, the key fobs don’t work. It will come with two keys, one was just cut at the dealership in September, and one is Gorilla Glued together.
I like the car a lot, and it absolutely turns heads wherever it’s at (people either love it or **** it).
Since the Frankenturbo it runs GREAT. Pushes you back in the seat, and you can actually feel the turbocharger turbocharging.
It dyno’d at 250whp and 270wtq. Doug is pretty certain that we can get those numbers up substantially, and I’m pretty sure a down pipe and proper cooling will do the trick.
Anyway, the A/C blows cold, heated seats work, and the ride is surprisingly smooth for the ride height. It’s been garaged since I’ve owned it, doubtful that it was for the first 123k of it’s life.
The Votex Kit is wrapped (still primer underneath) and the whole wrap itself touched up, so there’s minimal lift and seams. Best thing is, the paint is actually in pretty good condition underneath. The only problem being some light scratches here and there.
I try to be as honest as I can when selling things, as I’ve been burned plenty of times when buying/trading cars. It’s a pretty damn decent car, and I’ve put a lot of care into it over the past couple of years to bring it back from being a riced out, eBay special!
