  • a typical Datsun

I traded this truck from a friend of mine, Matt (metalmonkey47) in trade for a low vin# 240Z. It's already slammed(on thin bump stops) and needs a little love.
The truck had a sweet 2.1L stroker L20b that I had built several years back and had sold to Matt. The engine came out for a little freshening up and I needed better fuel mileage than the gas motor can currently provide.

Being a Datsun guru I have all kinds of random Datsun stuff, including a 2.2L Nissan diesel engine. Perfect for a daily driver that needs to get good mpg.

    Pics now. more words later.

slammed and still hauls (driveshaft rubs on bumps though, lol) (my 64 roadster in the background)

At Caffeine and Octane in Alpharetta, Ga last month.

and a little motor swap action

Truck is running. drove it around the block and its pretty sweet. Just has 3ft of exhaust and no muffler yet so its pretty noisy.

Its need to be repair quickly from an good mechanic and paint it well some new parts need to be fitted and the wheels needs to be change to make it dashing and according to the trend, the total expense to make it dashing is about 6K dollars.

The SD22 only made 62hp 100tq which is pretty slow, but the saving grace is that the truck is really light weight and had almost no rolling resistance. These diesel engines take pretty well to turbocharging up to about 7psi boost with no other modifications to the fuel system. That would give a boost up to about 100-110hp and 150 torque.

The front end needs to be converted from torsion bars to coilovers, pretty easy with a little welding of a couple brackets and cutting off the bump stops. The rear suspension has flatter 720 4x4 leaf springs and 3" drop blocks which brings it to about 5" lower than stock.
