  • Hellafucked/Canibitch/Sucks to Roll Retarded

So seems I have a new tire fail thread every month, heres the latest installment.

So the day before MFest Vegas, I noticed I had one small bubble on my rear passenger tire...
I figure I'll change it after MFest since I didnt have time.

So rollin to mfest, i did 110+ at certain points w/ no problem.

Heres a pic of Scott Chu doin his thang from my car. (Showroom content)

Anyways, on the last day, after the Cruise through the Valley of Fire.
I follow two hightly modded E39 M5s and a E92 M3 onto the freeway, and they book it up to 130+.
I tried to keep up and got up to 120ish

After slowing down, my car starts shaking slightly... doesnt seem right.

At this point, i slow down, but pass a CHP with scott hanging out of my car (seen above) and get pulled over. He made me put on my rear plate and gave us a warning.. no biggie...

Anyways... after leaving, my car is shaking worse, so i decide to pull over and change the tire... this is what I find...

    Stretched->Square tire conversion!

This should prob be a thumbs down...

So I did the 6+ hour trip home from vegas on a donut going 60mph

The tire is a hankook, so now that ive crossed falken and hankook off my list, I think Im going to try generals. I have generals in the front and they seem to be holding up pretty well.

On a lighter note, this is how my system display should be.
Too bad MRR wont step up and hook me up with another wheel

What's the problem? Is the wheel bent? You should look into getting runflats if this is a common occurrence.

How much negative camber do you run in the rear? Looks like those tires didn't like that either

for most of the life of those tires, it was running something like -3 to -3.5, but i got an alignment a few weeks ago and now its at -2

you can see the bubbles better here...

notice the bubble that covers 25% of the wheel here:

Those don't look like just bubbles. Looks like the pressure was too low for a while and then they were filled up again and the belts shifted/collapsed

That happened to me last year on my way to Wuste. Had a very small bubble when we left for Vegas, and by the time I hit Barstow, the bubble had managed to get to like half the tire, and when I was in Vegas, it was almost all the way around. I'm guessing the heat and friction of driving long distance cause it to expand like that. Be happy the tire didn't explode... could have been a bad situation. You should look into Nitto tires, the Neo-Gen's stretch really well. I've been very pleased since I put them on in Jan. I like them a lot more than my Falken 452s.

That sucks bro yeah. I'm happy with my Nexxen's. 245/30 on a 10". Not a big stretch, but no issues. I drove to LA and back (12 hours) with no issues either.

Well I am runing 255s on a 9.5. It is a small stretch but I don't see why you couldn't do more. Looking at the sidewalls they really aren't that different than a regular tire.
