  • FS-NJ: 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500 (w140) - Obsidian Black - 112,350mi - $9500

Selling my 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500. I am the 3rd owner and have about 95% of all maintenance receipts and service done to the vehicle. I am selling because I need the two extra doors. Vehicle has been well maintained during my ownership and prior to it as well. It was sold to the 2nd owner as a CPO (certified pre-owned) vehicle through a Mercedes-Benz dealer. Title is in hand and clean with no issues.

    Information:

Currently clicked past 112,350 miles as it is my daily driver and extremely comfortable and reliable at that for a 15 year old vehicle.

Upon inspection, the auto-leveling suspension system was showing signs of failure. Instead of replacing it with factor components, I decided to remove the setup in its entirety and replace it with Bilstein Sport Shocks and B&G Sport Springs. The springs are progressive which keeps a very factory-like smoothness to the ride but allows for tighter handling. The ride has been compared to that of an AMG vehicle. All factory components (hydraulic lines and fluid spheres were removed and sealed by a professional Mercedes-Benz/Maybach technician).

Obsidian Black Exterior (will benefit from a professional detail)
Black Nappa Leather Interior (great shape)

    Options:

harman/kardon Dolby 5.1 system (Becker unit)
    ESP-Electronic Stability Program
    Power Rear-Window Sunshade

    Wheels/tires:

OEM AMG Aero II wheels (18x8.5 et44 - retail value of $1,400 EACH)
Michelin Pilot MX Z4 (255/40/18) with 75% tread
Full size OEM 16" spare wheel and tire with 90% tread in trunk

    Service:

NEW OEM A/C compressor, pumps and lines! ($1500 job last month)
    NEW OEM antenna mast
    NEW OEM coil packs (3)
NEW OEM Bosch spark plugs (8)
NEW OEM ball joints & sway bar links
    NEW OEM rear brake pads
    NEW OEM front brake pads
    NEW OEM trunk lock tumbler
    NEW OEM instrument cluster bulbs
Removed OEM SLS (hydraulic fluid) suspension as it needed to be replaced.
NEW B&G Suspension S2 Sport Springs
    NEW Bilstein Sport Shocks

    Up front and honest items:

BAS/ESP light came on today - NEW brake assist switch will be installed
Passenger-side headlight wiper - motor to be fixed
Driver-side window regulator - NEW OEM included (not yet installed)
Driver-side window button - NEW OEM included (not yet installed)
Paint/body - 7/10 - some slight paint issues that could be cleared up with a professional detail. I have not had a chance to take care of this.
Interior - 9/10 - leather is in great shape with no tears or fading.
Both fog-light lenses have a slight crack from road debris. (looking to replace soon)
Driver and passenger side seat belts work fine but need to be tightened up a bit. Sending tensioners out for a rebuild (already paid for)

Price: $9,000 or best offer with the current 18" wheel and tire setup.
Price #2: $7,500 or best offer with a set of OEM MB 16" wheel and tire setup.

    VIN: WDBGA70G8XA430220

Lowered the price and I still continue to maintain this thing. Someone take it off my hands, wife is ready to kick me out for having this and the AMG.
