    The Mazdaratti - supercharged NB build

    So one of my good friends and I are putting a vortech centrifugal supercharger on his 2001 NB. After a long ass day, here's how far we've gotten.

    Here's the front of the bay mostly empty.


    Here's the first test fit. Didn't work so well, you'll see why later.



    So the space between the idler pulley and the tensioner was too thick. Which was weird considering this was made for an NB.


    So to fix the problem, pulled out the grinder and got to it. Shaved a fraction of a mm off but it fit perfect.


    Fits wonderful!


    Tensioner #2 and belt installed


    New huge ass radiator fitted and piped


    Here's where we stopped for the night.




    Still waiting on the rx8 440cc injectors to come in. He needs to order some piping as what we have is shit. I need to wire the fuel card for him and get the MAF back up and running. After that, all we need is to tap the oil sump, as far as I'm aware.

    This is his build, I'm just sharing it because I'm his right hand on it, so if I miss anything, I apologize. Hopefully the injectors come tomorrow and we can have the car started by Sunday night! C&c next weekend were hoping to dyno 190

    I've always thought that supercharges compliment the BP without overpowering the chassis.

      Agreed. Even though the centrifugal is not the most powerful way to charge an engine, for his tracking desires, it seemed most realistic.

      I forgot to add, he's got a 6 pound fidanza flywheel on the way as well

        Old oil line fitting was stripped to shit so we went to a local race shop and had a new one drilled.

          Fuel card, arm wide band, and fuel injectors showed up!

            Strut bar removed, air filter and MAF fitted, boost recirculation hose fitted. Almost there! Goal is to have it done by next Sunday so we can dyno it at C&C

              So I've been away from the car for a while and haven't had time to get pics but new on the list is a new ecu, sent the supercharger bracket off to get milled down as its too thick and interferes with the pulley, new 10psi pulley. As soon as it all comes in were hoping to dyno at over 200!
