Love it. Could you post specs on the wheels? I have a grey market 230TE wagon and I'm looking for wheels. Did you cut any coils?

the fronts are 16x9 w 205/45's the rears are 16x10.5 w 225/50's i dont know what my offsets are now since i changed things around. i have 15mm spacers up front that need switched out for 8mm and i also need 5mm or 8mm spacers in the rear to get it 100%. i hacke off 3 coils in the front. didnt do anything in the rear just left the SLS in its disconnected non functional state.

a gasser is a rare bird over here thats pretty cool. i have a grey market 84 300d non turbo that i beat around. i love it

Glad to see another one. Makes me miss my meshies. I'd say buy a pair of dark amber euro corner lights, or buy a can of VHT and spray one or two light coats of night shade on those clears. The clears cheapen the look of the w123.

^ These look great for being reproductions, although I did have to user a washer on one side to make them fit properly on my '84 sedan.. But I bought it wrecked so yeah.

Here's 2 coats of night shade on the cheapo clear corners on my old '84.

Looks great! I love old school wagons.

What is different about the grey market mercs and the ones sold here in the US, besides them being from europe. Is there any drivetrain differences that makes it better than the USDM version?

Slimmer bumpers, H4 headlights, no side reflectors, antenna in a different spot, less options, more power (both gas and diesel models), more manual trans options (US only got the 240D in manual).

There's more to it then that, but that's the quick and dirty list.

easiest way to tell is vin tag. depending on where the car came in at it may or may not have any obvious euro goodies left, but the vin tag on the pilar is different, since euro models only had one on the core support, one is added to the d/s a-pillar

Are you still running SLS in the rears or shocks with cut springs?
