  • AC Schnitzer Type 1 3-piece wheels for sale

These will fit a BMW E36 M3. Not sure what else.

I purchased these through Bimmerforum member, who posted for a non-member, this past July.

    2@ 17 x 8 with 1-1\2" rims, measured approx. ET33-34
    2@ 17 x 9 with 2" rims, measured approx. ET34-35

Wheels really needed to be cleaned up when I got them...seller's pics were less than current as it turned out, but I had always wanted a set, and also wanted to do a 3-piece wheel refurbishment as part of my restoration work on my 1998 M3.

I originally planned to mount these on my car, but based on the measurements I've recently taken of the wheels and current clearances, concluded that I don't want to deal with what now looks like the likelihood of having to roll the rear fenders - I planned to keep the OE tire sizes, but dropped the OE suspension something over a half-inch when I added Eibach ProKit springs \ Koni Yellow Sport shocks, and the OE wheels and tires are already a close fit at the rear - fronts won't be an issue. So, if I can get my price I will sell...if I cannot, then I guess I will learn how to roll rear fenders.

After complete dis-assembly and cleaning, here's what I did:

Polished the rims..couple of hours each, using increasing grits of 3M paper & discs.
Had the faces professionally stripped, powder-coated \ clear-coated - MUCH better than painting,
    Stripped & zinc-coated original ACS 10-point nuts,
Cleaned & polished original ACS 10-point bolts,
Painted (black) & clear coated insides of barrels (they are original ACS barrels...still have stickers from early 1990s)
Re-sealed wheel halves with Dow 832 sealant,
Added aluminum billet ACS logo wheel centers purchased from Paul Ehrlich in Mocksville NC.

The wheels are gorgeous now, as I hope the pictures show...not perfect, but damn near...straight and true with no bends, cracks, welds, or curb rash.

Lots of pictures posted in my album on Bimmerforum...here's the link:

    Asking $2,500. OBO.

Do these have centercaps refinished to match the faces?

Take a look at the pictures...there are 4 custom-made polished billet aluminum center caps that actually match the polished lips...use a dab of RTV silicone to secure in faces after mounting tires to wheels.

I do have the original ACS \ OZ plastic center caps, but two of them need to be re-painted and add ACS logo stickers...the ones I had made are much much nicer, as I had hoped the pictures show.

          According to the on-line parts catalog I use, the E30 M3 has 16" wheels, 7.5" width, offset ET27. The OE tire size shown is 225 \ 45 - 16.

You may want to try these calculators to see if there's room enough to fit the wheels and whatever 17" tires you'd fit. My M3 wears 225 \ 45 on front and 245 \ 40 rear on the OE 17 wheels (7.5 front, 8.0 rear), and that's the staggered tire fitment I'd planned to use on the ACS wheels too...not sure how those tires and my sale wheels will fit your car - try the calculators and see.

            I found this article on two E30 M3's, http://allthingsproper.com/2011/04/05/mm/
and one of them is running AC Schnitzer Type I wheels, 17×8.5 et 13 for the fronts and 17×9.5 et 21 for
the rears which makes me think the 33 offset is to big for the E30. Thanks anyway and good luck with your sale.

I went ahead and mounted some Michelin Pilot Supersports (225s front, 245s rear) and am going to test the fitment \ clearances this week...will decide then what to do.

Shipping to CA would be $40 - $50 per wheel, so right now 2500 would just cover what I've got in the wheels and refurb costs if I paid shipping to you.

Will advise soonest, as they used to say in telegrams.

Decided to keep them...did some fender rolling & grinding on insided of rear wheel wells' lips and they fit...barely.

It was worth it. Congrats on a beautiful set of wheels that are perfect for your car.

Mine are similar, and the date code on the rim is 1992, I love that.
