Default Ivan's 93 Mazda Miata Build Log

Hi everyone, about 5 months ago i traded my beloved base model 94 civic Cx (eh3/eg6) for a base model 93 Mazda Miata (NA).
Ive been lurking on Stance Works for sometime now, but i finally decided to join S/Ws and start a build thread because i plan to keep the car for some good amount of time. I also thought making this build thread would be a healthy way for me to stay inspired to work on my car.
I plan to keep the car fairly simple, with some tasteful mods in the near future.
The miata is pretty stock so far, I first obtained the car with a few aftermarket goodies.
-Rokkor Coilovers
-Garage Vary Style Front Lip
The First day i got the car i switched the Oem Miata daisy wheels for a set Of Enkei Jspeed wheels.

Heres a Pic of my old civic i traded.

Heres a Picture of My miata with my first main setup

After about a month of having the miata, I sold my Enkei Jspeeds and saved some money to purchase some new goodies.
-Rspeed Side Diffusers
-Klutch Republik SL1 wheels
Wheels Specs:
15x8.5 / et17 / 4x100
Gloss black lip with clear coat
Gloss Bronze face
Embossed logo center cap.
wrapped in 195/45's.

Here some Pics.

I enjoyed this setup for couple months and soon got bored. I ended up purchasing a new set of wheels.
Whistler Wheels KR1's
15x8 4x100 ET20
Chrome Finish
2.25" Lip

They kinda look like something in between Rotiform TMB's and CCW Lm5T

I havent gotten a chance to take a picture of my car with them yet been busy with work but ill be updating this thread soon. More pics to come!

Thank you, that was one of the things about the car that caught my attention when i first saw it. Although i do plan to purchase a hardtop for it in the near future but for now im happy with the look the tan top provides. Thanks again!

So today was a semi-sad day, I decided to wash my car and when i was cleaning the roof of my car i accidentally got my feet to close to my car and ended pressing down on one of my side diffusers/skirts with all my body weight. Several seconds later i hear a pop and cracking sound my side skirt was on the ground. I was a little bummed and i could have easily drilled more holes in the bottom of my undercarriage to mount it back up but i saw this as a perfect opportunity to try to save up for some genuine Project G side diffusers. So those may be coming their way sometime next year, i don't really have the funds for that at the moment. For now the oem look will be fine, Ive always been a fan of simplistic looks anyways lol.
Here are some pics:
Thats where it broke

And thats both off.

And heres a pic of the KR1's as i said i would take, full body shots coming soon my friend is working on some sweet pics for me

I didn't get to update this yesterday, but i did a quick sale on the side skirts that i accidentally broke. I made $30 bucks of off them which isn't much but ill be using that money to help me purchase a OEM R-package front lip for the Miata. Ive been wanting one since i got the car. I know my car came with a GV style lip which looks nice and aggressive but Ive always been more into the OEM look. As soon as payday comes around ill be making my purchase online.
Heres a picture of my car that the buyer of the side skirts took. It gives you a look of how the car looks without them and with my new wheels

I agree they are nice in silver! i thought the bronze/black combo were pretty cool too but in as time went by i got bored of the colors. Silver is a timeless finish in my opinion lol i should of got those at first! But its okay i enjoyed them regardless.

God I wish they would make those Whistler's in 5x112 16x9. Those are awesome, and cheap.

These are semi recent pictures, they were the couple that my friend was editing i talked about earlier on my thread. I think they came out nice. I will be posting newer pics soon, i no longer have the Garage Vary front lip or diffusers. The car looks more simplistic now, but anyways enjoy

Are the wheels directional? What do they look like from the passenger side?

They are directional, and they look the same on the passenger side as the driver side. Its not a counter-directional design if that makes sense lol i get what your thinking though.

So a little update i should have done a few months ago:
I bought a R package front lip for the car since i was a little bored of seeing my garage vary front lip. Im a fan of the oem lip and there were too many Miata's in my area with the GV lip. The R package lip is a common lip as well but i don't really see many around my town.
Before:

After:
(sorry for the bad quality of the picture it got dark by the time i was done).

Sooo there it is, i personally think it looks a little cleaner and more subtle.
