  • NY: Feeler: fs/ft: 06 Kia Spectra Tastefully Fitted

I have had this car about 4 years now and it has been a labor of love, but I'd like to see what else is out there.

    A little history:

My pops bought the car in late 2007 I think with about 8k on it. It had been a bank repo. He drove it for a couple years and if memory serves me right I bought it in 09 with 33k on it. He is also a car guy and is pretty meticulous like me, so it was taken good care of. Regular oil changes, etc.

I have no had the car a few years and here is how it is at it sits today.

2006 Kia Spectra EX 5-Speed with just under 97,000 mi.
    -A/c
    -Cruise (aftermarket)
    -Power windows and locks.
-Aftermarket Kenwood Headunit with iPod built in. Car has Sirius radio too but that stays with me.
    -Cloth tannish interior.
-I would give the interior 8.5/10, It's very clean, but it does show DD wear, especially in the drivers area.

    Suspension:
-Megan Coils for an 03+ Tiburon
-Front springs were swapped out with Megan replacements for shorter ones @ 8k spring rates.
-Rear swaybar upgraded from 14mm stock to 23mm Tiburon bar. Recently stripped and painted.
-Front swaybar removed. (Issues with binding. Still have it, needs new endlinks.)
    -Strut bar

    Engine:
    -Basically all stock
-I built a CAI with intercooler piping and a K&N Air filter.

    Wheels:
    -Wald Duchatelet
    -17x8 front et 29. 15mm spacers added
    -17x9 rear et m5. 15mm spacers added
-Running ARP extended lug studs all around. Lug studs are actually for an older Camaro but the knurling and diameter were pretty much spot on. If I remember right they were slightly smaller by .006" but I have not had any issues with them.\

    Other stuff:
-Battery relocation to the trunk with an Optima Redtop. 0 gauge wiring used with a 100 amp fuse.
-Aluminum shifter base bushings to replace the stock rubber ones.
-TWM brass bushings for the shifting linkage itself.
    -Korean short shifter

I know I am probably missing a lot of little things here and there but that is the majority of the stuff I have done to the car.

    The Good:
-Car runs and drives really well. No grinding when shifting.
-Recently did new brakes all around with Centric rotors and Akebono Ceramic pads.
-Tracks straight. Alignment done last spring. Have not adjusted the height since.
-Ball joints, tie rods have all been replaced.
-New front wheel bearings at around 45k. Press in type. Did them myself at my cousins shop.
-Depending on the interest with the car, timing belt will be done soon. I have the kit and all new accessory belts here in my room. I just have not had the time to get it done.
-No check engine light. Will pass NYS inspection right now with no issue. Car is very sound mechanically. I don't half ass shit.
-New windshield installed by Safelite last August. Has few small nicks in it already. If it were a big issue for a potential buyer I could have it replaced again.
-Car has never been in an accident. Clean title, no liens. All body panels are stock from the factory. Only thing I have added is OEM foglights I got off a junkyard car. Wired into the lowbeam circuit.

    The Bad:
-Car has 97k and has been DD'd in NY winters. Surface rust underneath the car. No structural rot at all. Underside of the car is powerwashed in the spring every year to clean it out.
-Front fenders have both been bacon'd. Doesn't bother me too much, part of rolling low. Needs to be said though.
-Rust spot on the hood. (See pics)
-Rust spots on the rear doglegs both passengers side and drivers side. (See Pics)
-Stone chips, dings, that kinda stuff up front. Again, I DD the car.
-2 very small rips in the drivers door arm rest. (See pics.)
-Clutch is currently stock. Doesn't shake or make noise when taking off, but car does have 97k so it should be done soon. If I don't sell the car, I plan to do it this summer.
-CV boots have small tears in them but the joints do not make any noise.
-Car was keyed before either my Dad or I owned it. Pics below.

Car will come with all other stock parts I have (stock suspension, wheels, other little odds and ends.)

Pics: (sorry they are iPhone pics)

    Price:
-KBB Value for the car in 'Very Good' Condition is $4,700
-I'm asking $5500 as is, wheels and all. Slightly Negotiable.

    Location: Norwich, NY

    Trades I would consider:
    -NA Miata.
    -S13
-Other RWD car. No BMW, VW, or Mercades. I hate working on them.

If you are offering a trade, it would have to be of equal or lesser value with cash on your end possibly. I am in the midst of buying a house so cash on my end isn't feasible. I also don't want a pile that isn't reliable. This is my only car, I would need something else just as reliable to make it to/from work.

I have done my best to explain the car as it sits. I do not need to sell the car, just looking to see what else is out there. If you are going to shoot me a lowball offer, don't bother, I'll ignore you. You can either PM on here if you are interested or text 6zero7 - 2two6 - 0047. People that have seen this car know I take very good care of it and I'm very meticulous.

    Thanks for looking.

    Andrew

        Bump.

Entertaining the idea parting this but I'd like to sell it as a whole.

Price is OBO. Or you can offer a trade but it would require cash on top on your end. I'm trying to buy a house. As long as the trade isn't rusted out and runs 1/2 way decent, I'll entertain just about anything at this point.

Wheels are off and suspension is off. Getting aligned tomorrow and I'm parting this out. $4k as it sits with a fresh alignment and new snow tires all around.

Would be a great daily for someone who has a project they don't want to drive during winter.
