Safeway Made a BooBoo
And I took full advantage of it. I was helping a friend out with his E30 yesterday. When we were done, he wanted to head to Safeway(grocery store for those who may not be familiar) and pick up something to bbq. Of course, the choice was steak. As we were browsing the meat section, we noticed something very odd. What looked like filet mignon, was labeled as 90% Lean Ground Sirloin. After some discussion, we decided we had to figure this out. Sure enough, he bbq'd the steak, took a bite, and confirmed it was definitely filet mignon. We were so shocked, we went back to the same store and bought the last two packs they had. All for less then $5 each(the ground beef was actually on sale too)! Needless to say, I can't WAIT for dinner tonight. Just thought I would share.

Just a guess, but probably $12-25/lb, depending on the store.

Well the + side is that you got cheap steak, the - side is that you will contract hepatitis, and salmonella...

Hahaha. I ate one of the two I got about 2 hours ago. It was amazing...seriously. No issues yet.
I also went shopping for other food tonight. Filet mignon was properly labeled at $13.99/lb today.
