  • E36 Nostalgia: The DD Build

Sup Ya'll, Coming from Stance-Nation forum aka KekeCav, simply because I had an Blue Cavalier over there decked out, I recently retired it for a while & put the car cover over her, this was in June of this year.

I guess the previous month I had an eye on an BMW, yes yes the Ultimate Driving Machine. As a Kid I had a dream that i'd own one. I always had a fetish for the mid-90's 3 Series but I never really studied it as much as I did till I was OLDER.

So previous month, just browsing around in the local classifieds, I found this little miss sitting on Kijiji (Good Site). At first I was going to let it pass but the owner messaged me questioning if I wanted to still buy the car! So I was like oh well, it's a BMW, A car I always wanted to own someday, So I bought it the following month before graduating High School.

Some of these, well most of these pictures were taken with my Phone so just bare with me till I get to the recent pictures of the whippy, Enjoy!!

Sat in a small town out of mines,

1994 318is Coupe, was too good of a good to just sit, needed some TLC.

If you seen it in person, Interior needed lots of work, way too dirty

I am the third owner of this so of course it needed work, one big concern was the paint jobs, see it was red but I guess someeeeone decided to paint it grey, oh well.

This wasn't gonna fly so I also had to plan and get this refinished as well

Finally got it home that same day I handed them the cash flow!

They painted over the trim so I had to restore the trim to black

So I couldn't drive it yet! These two bottles of oil weren't in the car yet, nor was any oil at all -_- driving the car about 200 miles back to where I lived, luckily the engine didn't blow lol

Fell in love with the Style 5 BBS Wheels, So I think they're going to be around for a long time during this thread guys.

    BODY WERK!

Made some texts to a buddy to come over and get rid of the damn rusted panel.

During the oil change, we discovered a minor problem, dun dun dun dunnn... A Stabilizer Link lollolz, but we replaced that a couple days later.

After that, she was ready for the road, no problems so far, NOPE! Posted next to the Cavy

When I got everything transferred, After coming back from the branch, I gave her a last car wash.

    On the road! but rain

    Then this...

THE CAR WOULDN'T START! IT CRANKED, BUT NO GAS WHYYYYYYY

We thought it was the Fuel Pump, Electrical problem but we didn't not have any clue!

    Pops in the background lol

    Fuuuuuuuuu

We gave up, So yup SOLD IT TO THE YOU KNOW WHERE...

Naw I didn't give up just there, I WANTED This car for many many years, so I got it towed to a Euro Car Specialist to the city.

    2 Weeks later

Turned out that I was right, when we took the fuel pump out of the car during the investigation we got it tested, worked fine, so we checked the relay, fine, so I did research on forums, turned out that it was a failed crank sensor, if I knew any better I could've did a DIY right there with a new Crank.

    ... Photo Whor3.

Spacers are needed, anybody plz let me know what size would be best to get it flush with the fenders.

I'd say a week before Ordering my Coilover Setup...
Now, I can't park on the grass anymore without bottoming out

BTW Cleaned up the interior of course...

It was time to yank out the oldies and in with the new!

    Weapon's of Mass Destruction son!

Set Of Jom Jom's (As of what I call them)

Now I've heard these went low, and I mean literally touching the ground, I heard so many stories about how they broke on Audi's & Bimmers and ect ect, but they've been on the car for a good grand so far, rides like stock!

Here's how she sits, MY VERY RECENT PIC OF THE CAR, painted rims white with a aluminium lip finish, turned out great for my likings.

I Should have some more & BETTER pics of the car very soon & a possible video once acceptable, next on the stance list majorly,

    - Wheel Spacers for the Rear

    - Yellow Fog Lights

    & More & More treats!

    Heres A Teaser of Lovette,

    Thanks for viewing guys

I like this. Seems like a good start and the car has some potential. Not usually a fan of e36s, but hopefully you can pull it off.

That rust though.... I **** rust, makes me cringe.

Haha thanks man... Yeah always wanted to stance these cars, heh that ###### rust that was on the quarter panel is now gone!

Only rust on the car that I have to worry about is the rocket panels, up front.

          I love this car.

Just get rid of the rust... grey and red color, prime it and then paint it in color you like.

I also have JOM JOM's, hehe... they are brutal I lowered my E36 2,5 inches off the ground (lower front cross member) without engine in it, no interior and no front end.

            Updates Yo

So it's been a week & I recently ordered some goodie's for fixing aka drivers door stop (when you open it you have to hold it so it doesn't slam on your lag) & also cosmetic, one of them were my custom euro plate I ordered. A few more things should be coming in about a week or two like my spacers and yellow fogs but here's some new pics so far tonight!!!!!

So I lost one of my original Jack Covers this week so I went out & found 1 to replace that and it was black, so instead of painting it to the same colour as the car I wanted to experiment,

Let me know what you think guys

STATIC DROP! LOL Sorry I Had To

I still want moar low but my rear won't let me because it is threaded way to the top for the drop, if you guy's have any ideas on your techniques (any car) please give me a shout.

I should have some more updates this week hopefully,
            One Love

You can take out the rear adjuster, but the there are 2 pieces, just the lower one. And you can order thinner rubber pads under and above the spring or just take them out. You should get 1/2", maybe more depends on how thick the rubber pads are.

                Thanks for replying back IGOR989,

Yeah the second day after fitting the coilovers I took out the rear adjusters and it made a huge difference, I just still feel like I can go a bit more lower in the rear than now...

The pads, I never thought of that idea, where could I find shorter ones?

I would go with springs that goes 2" but I don't feel like spending dough on those, heating them would probably make them ride like sh#*!!
