Wink The clean28

Well umm i dont know how to start... well i guess ill start at the VERY beginning.
when i was 16 my dad brought home a 1986 535i from work that they where going to scrap.and i fell in love i begged him to keep it and it eventually became my first car. i drove it for a year untill i found a BADASS 91 k5 blazer so i sold the car and got the truck... i regretted ever since.

thats my old e28

my old k5

Fast forward four years (i cant belive its been that long) and me and my friends decided we all wanted to get cars and have a cool little club so we can be cool and drive to car meets and stuff together and take pictures. i was looking on the good old craigslist and found an E28 for 700 bucks i called the guy up he told me it ran and it was a 535i with a 5 speed.. SOLD me and my friends drove an hour away and saw this.

IT WAS A 528E AUTO

But it wasnt too rusty (so i thought) so i talked the guy down $300 and towed it to my friends house that night.

towed it with my daily 84 k5 diesel (23MPG FTW!)

at my friends that night

the car stayed at my friends for a week untill i broke the news to my parents
i got the car home and started to tear it apart.

IMG_20120902_171048

I have huge plans for this car. and its gonna be nice and clean. im hoping to have the car complete by march... like i said i hope...

so hears the build plan.
1.body.new fenders rear quarters and new tail pan. Euro head lights and bumpers. and new paint

2.M30 and trans, re gasket the motor new injectors and plugs. new clutch and light weight flywheel, z3 short shifter and EVENTUALLY i will turbo it

3. new breaks and all new suspension bushings and i will be sitting on bilstein HDs and SPAX springs

Must be nice! It looks like this car is headed in the right direction. Sucks about driving all that way and finding out it was 528e auto, but at least you got it for cheap.

So i was on my way to work this morning and all of the sudden my eyes got really sensitive to the sun, it was like snow blindness. i drove like this for a half hour before the pain got too intense. i ended up at the ER and the told me i had an issue with my corneas. HURRAY NO WORK

so being my stupid self instead of resting like i was told to do i worked on the car!

i attempted to clean my carpet ... i scrubbed and scrubbed

AND TADA!!!! its still brown and nasty! ill pressure wash it again later

IMG_20120904_185106_098[1]

I got my floors 80% done ill finish this week and hopefully have my interior all in

Okay im hoping to get the car painted In the next few months (if my eyes can freaking get better so i can weld) So in the mean time im trying to brainstorm some colors... originally i was going to spray it the original color, burgundrot-metallic, but since almost every body panel is gonna be new im thinking im mix this project up a bit!

im thinking im gonna do bahamabeige-metallic... or do i do the original... OR do i go green???

what do you guys think??

IMG_20120912_130128 by OFNA123, on Flickr

My manager gave me a box of stuff from the back. FREE SCORE!

IMG_20120912_140139 by OFNA123, on Flickr

I found a matching set in the box! i think im gonna make a center gauge pod ontop of my dash. My buddy made a really nice one with ABS plastic and PVC pipe so ill give it a shot.

IMG_20120912_224459_377 by OFNA123, on Flickr

IMG_20120912_224211 by OFNA123, on Flickr

FREE is awesome! I envy you sir! Have fun with it I have owned 9 528e's so far. Yours is pretty rough but it's awesome someone is fixing it up. You should thinnk about doing a b35 upgrade before engine install. Maybe even a Miller MAF. Just a thought!
