Default Eight Cylinders in a Cookie Cutter E36.

I've got a neglected build thread somewhere on here for this piece of trash, but here's some unprofessional poor quality Iphone photography of my 318i.

This car was built with spare parts, spare change, and pieces of time over the past year.... the initial v8 swap took six weeks, and we've been refining the car since.

This is not a track car. This is a fun toy that I drive whenever the hell I feel like it. It's surprisingly slow, but does a mean burnout and sounds awesome. If you think burnouts are childish, tell your wife to lighten up and let you enjoy yourself a bit.

Anyway. Look at it, criticize it, ask questions, do what you want. I'm happy to discuss/explain. And I won't get hurt over anything you guys don't like.

Decent build thread can be seen here:

The only thing I would think that could make it better is if you tubbed the rear and put some big old rear wheels on there! LOVE this build dude!

Though I cannot say I could possibly disagree with your engine choice any more in any way, I do like the car quite a bit. Knowing that it was on a very tight budget gives the car a certain cool factor, sort of the old "fuck it, make it go" mentality that our hot rodding forefathers had. Great work, nice car, and let's see some burnout shots/ video.

What's next....

Well, I'm bored with it.

I have a 383 stroker block that I should get dropped in, but I'm not sure that I really want to go any further with this.

I'm considering selling and building another off the wall e36 after Bimmerfest.

A friend of mine just finished an e30 build with a proper BMW v8, so hopefully soon we get time to do burnouts and stuff and get some footage to share

i think it looks good!
nice that you have style 5's on it so that it won't be all redneckt out!
and the bay is really clean !

but how many HP you got now ?
is it a lot more then the standard engine ?

This engine is between 200-250 hp, not impressive at all. But about twice what the car came with.

I promise burnout pics and vids soon.

Small block Chevrolets are unfortunately not terrifically loud in stock form.

Nice, where'd you throw the fuse box? Under the dash or made your own?

Looks dope, if you're bored...boost it!

I like how the car sits and everything ties together, but can you drive it in the rain? would all the rain go into the carb?

The fuse box is under the dash, a huge pain in the ass but well worth it!

I drive it whenever I want, I've been in some nasty rain and had no trouble. It's actually fun to drive in the rain!

I'd love to boost it, but I'm being a little bitch about it haha.

Hinrichs, where was it that you saw it?

Just flip the manifolds around, make a collector for both sides with a T4 flange, huge turbo, BAM!

If only it were that simple....The manifolds are extremely customized to fit around the steering shaft and angle up enough to not shoot the exhaust straight to the ground.

I've done some figuring and it'll take a new set of manifolds flipped, lots of piping, one huge turbo, a blow through carb, and we'd be in business. It'll destroy the well kept bay though....we'll see..
