Default Mk4 Jetta "Build"

Whats up all?? I'm Ryan and I have had my Jetta for about 3 years... If youre on Vortex you may recognize my car. My interest in VWs stems back long before I had my liscense...so getting this car after highschool was basically a dream come true.

First off I'd like to point out that my "Build" isnt anything compaired to some of the stuff in this forum...but i'd still like to share and get a little feedback..I'm far from a mechanic and learn by doing...but its all fun and I have enjoyed every stage of this car..

blah blah blah onto the pics..

started off like this:

did some bad things (Black tails, rubs, wheels...) :

Small tires:

then coils:

white wheels, spacers:

this:

Then the wheels were mounted....but the height was never dialed in due to motor problems and coolant leaks...so i rolled around super high for a month and then took them off for the winter:

Then this happened:

no finished pics yet, but pretty much everything is back together...just some small touches of red suede around the car to accent the red in the Recaros..

let me no what you think, and stay tuned for some good updates...im always doing something to this car...and have some plans for the near future...thanks for looking

I like the poke! I don't like the wheel choice or color though. Wheels are to over played on MKIV's.

Thanks guys! The 4mo was super easy...clips lined up just like the OEM valance so it was pretty quick...I zip tied a few clips on the inside for extra support since it takes a little bit of a beating...but it can't be seen from the outside of the bumper...

Good luck man...shouldn't be to hard...my bumper was off when I did mine which may have made it easier...but either way it should be a pretty quick job

made little to no progress today but worked for about 5 hours :screwy:

long story short:

i bought old dampening adjustable air lifts from a dude on vortex who claimed he didnt know how low they went (mistake i guess) and upon installing them and putting the car on the ground i sat at about 24 inces fender to ground, maybe a little higher...unacceptable

decided to run a bag over coil set up until i can buy some fronts that actually go low, but obviously the bags on the air lifts wernt universal so it has taken some cutting and grinding to get everything to work...i keep running into set backs but im trying to stay determined lol

by tomorrow i should have some worth while updates....

heres the low before some cutting was done (polo bushings should be in soon)

thanks for looking!

Looks good. As played out as the rims are on mk4 they still look good. You should polish them i think that would look amazing.
