  • Karasu Motorsport [Suzuki Swift 1.5VVT Turbo Project]

I bought in 2006 this little Suzuki 1.5L Swift all Stock unless some 17" wheel and a "Sport" exterior kit from Suzuki.

This is my everyday car, so i never thought that it could be today also my Trackday Car specially a 100Hp Suzuki Swift , I can't be my trackday car... its like try to install OSX on an Android phone, it can be done but it's bonkers .

So years pass and 2 years ago i meed 2 guys that we became very good friends. We Started doing little jobs on cars, as one day started to upgrade and transform that little Swift that was drove from home to work every day, to something that could posibly face some better SportsCars on the road.

To make that happend we started upgrading the basics, suspension, brakes and wheels, also some new visual parts like the "Sport" bumpers and side skirts:

Next was changing the paint, but i couldn't afford to do it on properly so as i work doing vinyl wraps we thought that it could be good idea to change to white.

Changing another time to Race Style, 17" wheel on and lots of carbon fiber. Also we started to buy all the parts to do the Turbo kit.

All the bits arrived finally and the party begin

T25 Turbo from a 200sx, Monster Head Gasket, GreddyUltimate etc...

A pain to do the electronics but it has to be done perfectly

Little "Control Panel" with AEM and turbo gauge and other bits

Big holes to let all the stuff come inside the car

Lots of wires, a turbo timer.... too much work for a short weekend

Started with the mecanics on a friend workshop

Walbro 255 in, had to do some modifications but finally its inside.

    The Snowperformace Stage2 Kit

Superior Work made by my friend, 2.5" Downpipe and freeflow exhaust

Last August we finished the turbo install and we begin doing last touche to the electronics and exterior parts

Now that the car was perfect condition, i decided to try it on a race competition, and TimeAttack started last year in Spain so was a good oportunity to do some fine adjustments on the car and feel how it performs.

The bad thing was that when we left the box on the track on the first corner the gearbox broke, and we said goobye to the race.

The 4th gear broke but this was the perfect moment to upgrade the gearbox.

Bought a Torsen LSD, a 1.6L Gearbox & Driveshafts from a Rally Swift Sport, reinforced bearings, Stage2 Exedy Clutch with reinforced plate and Exedy flywheel.

Also bought some aerocatch bonnet pins, EVO8 recaro Seats...

And now the car its like this, waiting some new bigs like better radiator, aeromotive fittings and other Stuff.

Like the work, but when will the "stance" be happening?

i've ordered some pillowball mounts and rear camber adjusters to give the car some Stance and let the new wheels go inside my arches.

Don't know at the moment what wheels to buy, i was thinking at some Rota Grid V 4x100 8x15" +0

Saw them on a mx5 and was epic...

The other option is some Rota Grids offroad 8x16" 4x100 +20

Why not splash out on the real deal?

Very expensive but they're amazing quality wheels.

                    Some upgrades on the projects.

JUst made some improvements on the Suzuki's turbo intake, installed a 2.5" intake from a Subaru Impreza and a K&N Filter

We made a new rollcage for the rear Seats, and new suspension components

Also repared some head problems because we were using OEM head bolts. Just changed them to some ARP Studs

                    New Civic EG radiator

                    Reinforced front DriveShafts

Some Photos of the other day, with a friend:

Planning to buy some Rays TE37, but can't get the proper Offset on 4x100 hub...

                              Some updates on the car.

The little suzuki did well since December 2012, made good HP numbers on STock Engine internal. Did some videos with the car:

But last week the Gearbox gave up and broke a Diferential Bearing. So the LSD broke up. I contact MFactory and they will send me a new one to repair it. Really good customer support!!

Also had problems with the Greddy Ultimate, had problems with the Coil control unit, so the car couldn't fire up, had to change the unit for a Rev. E Greddy Ultimate. (mine was Rev.C). And the problem was solved

THis is where the car sits now... new year, new garage! lol

On the Left a friend doing some work on his QG18DE (posibly going turbo also )

                              Here the broken bearing

                              Broken Diff

Had problems with the engine Gasket too, and the Oil catch system, it creates water deposits on the valve cover.

We decided to take the engine appart and go for Forged internals this time:

                              New Parts Arrived

This is the new intercooler in place

Now waiting for the Wiseco and GT2871R Turbo to arrive. Posibli going for the 300Bhp this time for the 1.5 block.

                              Best Regards from Spain,

                              Pablo.
