Moving my thread over... Sin City e36
Bought an e36 last year to daily... got bored with it and started building my e36 several months back
************For those of you who don't want to read through an entire thread, here is a quick photo of how the car sits right now****************************
The car was purchased bone stock. 100% virgin. Since ownership, I've installed Bilstein PSS9 coilovers, M50 mani, intake, exhaust, M3 brakes all around, M3 front bumper, M3 mirrors, and Racing Dynamics skirts and rear bumper, along with bits. I also picked up a set of old school Kinesis 3 piece wheels to build and throw on. Anyway here are a few photo's of progression.
Follow along, the stance is coming guys.
Here is the closest pic to stock I've got. This is when I threw on some VERY temporary wheels.
Then I picked these up:
And installed M3 brakes up front (rear shortly afterwards), along with a little more low.

Lips came back from the shine shop!
1.5" lips up front, 2.5 in the rear.

I'll be getting more photo's of the car soon. I've been working on it so much that I haven't really taken time to update that. It's now got a full M kit on it, with another set of temporary wheels, and a NICE fender pull/roll on it.
Paint should be soon. Followed shortly by a wheel fitting, stancing, and professional photoshoot instead of this silly camera-phone.

Well, I missed paint... again. But I picked up a new set of wheels to rock for a bit.
Style 5's, 17x8, 17x9. Et20 front with spacers et8, rears are et22. Will add spacers and camber this week.
Also dropped it some more. The pss9's are now maxed out for low. If I want more low, I have to remove the tender springs.

The small parts will PROBLY be painted tonight... but I likely won't update anymore until tomorrow. I guess that's it for now then. I just wanted to move this out of the intro section.

Sneak preview:
Got the front bumper all the way through the process... This photo is only with one coat of clear on the front bumper. Two more coats of clear to go.... as well as a cut and buff for a MIRROR shine.

Thanks gents! The car's being sprayed in the booth. A garage job would scare me, and I'm sure the HOA would have something to say.

Thought so. You're already planning on cutting and buffing after a booth aint job? When my car was resrayed all it needed was a quick machine polish..

I'll give it a few days to cook, but yes. There's PLENTY of clear on it to afford the cut. Maybe a polish would work, but I'm really wanting a mirror here so we'll go for the cut/buff just to make sure.
Yours looks first class though!

I hope it turns out nice! The color is Avus Blue Metallic. Although there is no actual metallic in it. It's all pearls from what my paint mix guy is saying. Here's a pic of an Avus that shows a pretty accurate color.

Well, I have updates! Got the car sealed completely tonight... it's nice to finally be in one color again. That's the first time in 6 months.
After that, we laid down 3 coats of color, and 3 coats of clear.
Color coat 1
Skip ahead to clear coat 1
And skip ahead again to closeups of clear coat 3
The car will sit and bake overnight. Tomorrow if I have some time, I'll install the bumpers and let it sit another day or two. Then it's time to wetsand/cut/buff. For now, it looks AWESOME... but will become a mirror very soon.
Stay tuned friends!
