Hey everyone. As the title states, I'm looking to sell my 2000 European spec E39 M5 I purchased from Nevaland9 last year at the beginning of the summer. Just over 49K miles with plenty of upgrades. During my time of ownership I've spent nearly (actually over) $8,000.00 on parts and labor to get it the way I want mechanically. It still needs some body work as there's a slight scrape on the front bumper and small dent underneath the drivers side rocker panel which I've been quoted around $600.00 to fix. Other than that, the paint is in excellent condition and the car has very little rust as its always been garaged and originally a Florida car at that.
The Good:
It's a Euro car so a couple of differences between the US version include stock front brake ducts, curved side view mirrors, Euro dash, and rear fog lights come standard and of course the Euro trunk. The original gauge cluster was replaced at my local BMW dealership and it was originally in kilometers. I had to have it fixed due to dead pixels which is a common problem in these cars. The gauge cluster now reads in miles after they programmed the new one in and they can confirm the mileage is correct on the ECU. Being a grey market car I've had no issues insuring it and I currently have Safety Insurance. It has a clean title and can be confirmed through car fax.
The new parts I have installed just to give you an idea include a new fuel pump, all four 02 sensors, previous owner replaced the MAF sensors as they appear brand new, basically new Bridgestone Pole Position tires that have 5K miles on them which I bought brand new when I got the car. It also has UUC engine mounts, JIC/Cross coilover suspension (OEM suspension available) DICE mediabridge iPod hookup as well as widescreen navigation and the full set of 2011 navigation disks for North America. I also recently purchased a cd changer and OEM catalytic converters that I plan on having installed with the car. It does have an Active Autowerke stage 2 tune. I also replaced all four rotors and pads as well as brake sensors and had a new CD changer cover put in and the trunk light replaced. Oil change performed with Castrol 10W60 only. The clutch was also replaced and I also had the flywheel refinished. I will be adding photos to the repair bills when I get a chance.
The bad:
The vanos system will have to be done at some point (it does not affect anything performance wise, just a small ticking noise and I've had this confirmed by Import Autowerkes over in Braintree, MA. Not sure if this is bad or not, but the previous owner had the whole front of the car and part of the roof repainted and you can hardly tell it was done. Right now its not passing inspection due to aftermarket high flow cats I had installed. I recently purchased some OEM cats and plan on having them installed Wednesday so it will pass. The cruise control doesn't work and the drivers side mirror folds up and down occasionally. The rear view mirror also needs to be sent out to be repaired which will cost around $100.00. It also has a new sub-frame which was confirmed by my local BMW dealer when I took it in for service. I found this out after I purchased it from Nevaland9.
I do have a couple of exterior photos to give you an idea what it looks like and hopefully next week I'll be having it fully detailed over at Driven Perfection and it will get a full stage 2 detail and engine clean. With the purchase price I'll also include a stage 1 detail and Valentine One radar detector. Thanks for looking.
