Default BITCH ASS: A Build of Average Proportions and Modest Income

Well, I figured that it may be time to post a build thread for one of the original Focuses to disgrace the Stanceworks forum. Some may remember last year when I "went aggressive". A lot has changed since then, and there are some pretty major plans in place for the coming year. I'm also proud to say that this car came home from the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals 2011 with a plaque for third place in it's class. Before I go on, here's a quick blurb about what the car is:

2006 Ford Focus ST (USDM)
-2.3L DOHC Duratec engine, all aluminum
-Factory short-tube header
-SVT-tuned suspension
-4-wheels discs
-ST-specific interior
-Some ST-specific exterior tweeks

While it is insignificant, I should mention that this car is considerably more rare than one might imagine. It is estimated that there were somewhere between 3 and 4 thousand STs made in 2006, and they all came equipped with traction control standard. Or so Ford thinks. Nobody's quite sure how, but a few (including this one) snuck off the assembly line with just ABS.

Now that I have surely bored you to tears, here is what has been done and what will be done. I am open to suggestions, as always, though I will simply ignore suggestions to scrap the car and start over with a "real" one. I love this car to pieces, no matter how insignificant it may be to others. I run a small business with my friend called Keegan|Brock Development (many know my first name is Matt, though few know my middle name is Keegan), and I use this car to showcase my products at shows. With this in mind, I do my best to keep the car clean, well-maintained, and show-ready at all times. I half-ass nothing on this car, and I like to think my patience and workmanship show through in the final product each step of the way.

The Mod List:
-H&R coilovers
-Borbet Type CB 16x7.5
-Flaken ZE-912 205/40-16
-Keegan Komponents adjustable front endlinks
-Keegan Komponents adjustable toe arms
-Home-brewed exhaust with Dynomax Race Bullet
-REDLINE Tuning leather e-brake and shifter boots
-Energy Suspension rear endlinks
-Marcy Motorsports 3.5-inch intake (custom painted by yours truly)
-Energy Suspension polyurethane rear engine mount inserts (upgraded to factory aluminum mount from cast iron piece)
-Tinted taillights
-Clear side markers
-AVS wind deflectors
-Thule Aero rack
-Flocked gauge surround
-Steeda Tri-Ax STS
-Rolled/pulled fenders

Finally, here are the current pictures, taken down in Carlisle just under 2 weeks ago:

All taped up for the long drive to Carlisle:

I like that reflection rolling shot in a wheel. Will look much better with the arch gap closed up a bit

Thanks! It does need a bit more low, but that'll happen soon enough.

17s are perfect for the Focus body, but if you look at my plans, I will be doing both of your other suggestions in time.

Thanks!

On a build-related note, the RF ABS wheel speed sensor arrived in the mail today. When that goes in, I plan to tinker a bit with the fenders and suspension. We'll see how that goes.

My toe arms went in the car last night. It's not chassis work on a Focus until something's seized.

The toe arms I designed and sell:

Cutting bolts...

In the car. Please excuse the temporary exhaust hanger.

Up next is flocking in the interior.

Picked up a center console that doesn't have an armrest, I hear the car is a lot easier to drive without it. I'm thinking of flocking the entire thing, but does anyone think that may be too much flock in one area?

Here's a stock photo of the interior for reference:

I'd also like to flock the top sections of the door panels and the vent surrounds. Thoughts?

Flock showed up today, work will start first thing in the morning before a buddy shows up for me to take measurements for a strut bar.

The first flock has been finished. I touched it too soon, so there are a couple of small spots here and there which are not perfect. That bothers me. I will pull it out and touch it up when I flock the center console.

Flock is tiny suede fibers that are sprayed over an adhesive that has been applied to a part.

That it does, sir! The wheels look very good in person, but I've had them for a while, they're cheap, and I need wider ones. I need to roll the fenders before I go lower, but it DEFINITELY will happen. I'm thinking Team Dynamics Imolas or Borbet Type Ts for the next set.

Thanks for the kind words!

Lowered it another .5"

Slight tuckage in the front, zero gap out back. Once I roll the fenders more, I will go lower. I need to LOWER. IT.

This has got potential. Smaller, wider wheels with some tire stretch and a bit lower and it'll be awesome.

The interior should look cool once it's done.
