  • BMW E39 slow build.. Lotsss of picsss

Since I post here more then regular lately why not make a little build thread...

I'm pretty new to the whole car-scene since I bought her!

First of all : I'm not a skilled photographer.. so these pic's are of poor quality..

    Bought her in '97
    And so this story started...

    Winter 2007/08:

Immediately when I bought the car I ordered some FL headlights and bought a set of 19" Bellini Strada's 8,5j + 9,5j ET20
These are poor reps which back then cost me all my money.. but hell I was a noob!
If I knew then what I know now...

This made me hooked on her and I got a virus.. a modding virus...

So did some goodies... some bad, some nice...

    Summer 2008:

    Started visiting some meetings/GTG

    Winter 2008/09:

I got tired of the dents, scratches and some small rust...
So a complete re-paint in original cosmos-schwarz was scheduled for spring 2009..

But not without a full Ac schnitzer body kit, ///M-mirrors, some Eibach sportline lowering springs, Hartge exhaust and OEM Hella rears...

    Then found some new wheels: BBS RX-II 19" 8,5j ET20 + 10j ET18
    All for a whopping 300 euro's (aprox. 425 dollar?)

Meanwhile painting was done and rebuild her....

    First pics after re-paint:

This I rocked and rolled for a year (summer) and finally had some legit pic's taken:

    Winter 2009/10:

I updated my audio.. All Rainbow components..

    *Rainbow IQ-line composet
    *Rainbow iPaul 4.300 4-kan.versterker
    *Rainbow iPaul DM2000 monoblock
    *Rainbow 12"Vanadium subwoofer
    *Alfatec 1 Farad condensator
    *Connection hi/lo converters (2x)

And also got the automatic transmission al revised @ ZF in Dortmund, Germany

No pics, but it was an experience to see skilled people take apart and rebuild my auto trans. like it was Lego...

Also replaced all my joints/arms etc.

And another summer went by... with a new set of pics..

    Winter 2010/11:

    Time for some changes....

Redid my headliner... black accesories coming soon..

But still I'm missing something... But I can't get my finger on it...

As we say in dutch : het puntje op de "i"..

Took the BBS and brought them in for a refurb, polished lips and get the centers painted...

Ordered some coilovers last week , hope they arrive soon....

And that means a new chapter opens for me..... Stancing for noobs....

So all advice is accepted gladly....

All pics and more can be found on my weblog:

It's all in dutch but hell pics say more then words...

    All C&C welcome...

        What this guy said!

I keep seeing E39's that make me want to pick up an M5... Such a timeless car!
There will always be someone driving something nicer than yours. Just don't park next to that guy!

                    Thank you all...

                    Wheels where a bargain..

Interior is 1 of the reasons I had to have this car...

I'll be updating this thread in a month or so hopefully..

Really need to do some math.! Got alot of "fitment" learning to do..
what spacers to get, rolling fenders...
And the tires I have now are gonna be way to big..

                    235/35 on the front (8,5)
                    255/30 on the back (10)
Aldo the back would be ok?
