Default cwp mazdaspeed3 / work rezax rebuild

here is my progress thread for my speed3. its a little slow going since im doing the wheels and everything myself so bear with me

original photoshop i did to see how it would look...

roof rack and bike trays added...

boost gauge reinstall/customizing . the silverface, white edge lit autometer gauge doesnt match my oem gauges worth a damn. sooo, since the boost line broke behind the gauge i took it out, ordered new line and a red led bulb. then i took apart the boost gauge to make the face and needle different...

DDM 4500k hids and DDM yellow fog bulbs...

wheel painting supplies...

from when i did the test fit:

comments and questions welcome!

wow the duplicolor bronze looks awesome. i dont know why they dont make gold, but i like bronze anyway and will look sick on ur ride. i want to get 18x8 G35 7-spoke OEM rims and paint them with this color, and im glad i saw actual pics using the color. cant wait to see installed!

and props for takin the wheels apart and all, doin it correct!

how many coats did u use for primer, color and clear?

yeah after seeing a lot of pics online in my research for the right bronze color i decided to go with the duplicolor. in the sun it looks amazing.

its a pain in the ass to take the wheels apart and everything but itll be worth it in teh end

after sanding the wheels i do just over 1 coat of self etching primer, then 2 solid coats of bronze, then wetsand, then another coat of bronze, then 2 coats of clear.

Not too shabby. The wheels definitely turned out nice. The tires look pretty chunky though. I'm assuming you went 215/50 to keep the stock O.D.?
