  • Hood Rich II : 1987 BMW E30

I'm not sure If anyone remembers me from my first SW build, Hood Rich S13 around the time Mike's Rusty E28 was retired, tehn brought back to life.

Events happened in my life, and I had to sell the S13, and move on.
Had to grow up a bit, and stop driving on suspended license, after being arrested several times, and wait out my time I have left (Dec. 8th, 2010)

Recently the opportunuty was offered for me to come into ownership of a new ride.
    This E30

Which I drove and loved in a matter of 20 mins. Purchased, and drove home excitedly.

This car brought me back to SW.

Many plans for the future, just unsure where to begin, and what I'll need.
BMW is a totally foreign auto manufacturer to me.

    Plans so far:
    Slammed on some stretched+poked Diamonds
    Maybe paint...Maybe not

Need Coils and wheels. I just dont know what route to go on the coils.
    Need comfortable daily ride.

but I have all winter to gather knowledge and parts for my build.

    help me if you can...

Well since you have a while to get parts, I would say, instead of Diamonds, search for a good deal on some wheels, winter time you tend to find a lot of people selling wheels, and can get solid deal because of all the wheels out there being sold.

mmm idk man. i honestly am not trying to cheap out on wheels, i just like the look of diamonds. and the easily accessed sizes.

and most likely wont have to run spacers with diamonds. i had spacers stacked up on my S13 lol

        UPDATE:
Midnight boredom Leads to things getting done

i had some 7 inch GE Amber Halogen bulbs, from another project, and i measured them, and they fit exactly in the socket of the E30 high beam bulb

the connection was kinda a bitch to get right, but i got it

Also while i had the grill apart, i painted it, and the rings that hold the lights in

and the front and rear bumpers

let there be mother fuckin light

        Another idea im tossing around:

Headlight visors from a 30's chevy

        look rad to me.....

        ps. disregard the moped shit

Headlight visors are something I've never seen. Very inventive.

Sweet! I was wondering where you and you're car went cuz it was one of the build threads that i always checked everyday... the eyelids are sick, can't wait to see what else you have planned.

You have a light out home slice.

Love E30's, and look forward to see what happens next.

wow, i honestly thought the visors were gonna get MUCH flame. but you all love them. thats rad.

Jersh, i got arrested, and thats why i wasnt on here for a while, had to sell my 240sx and my Datsun 620, and move away lol

still trying to find a way to actually permanently fix the visors, i kinda just shoved them in there for now, to take the pix.

From further back you cant realy tell it has visors, it looks like eyelid decals kinda, but ill get some better pix once i mount them correctly.

Also.... Has anyone tried to flip their wheel around back wards and rock it?
there is a red BMW on here that has wheels that looked like they are flipped around.

                          JW thanks everyone.

EDIT: The light that looks out, is just dim, but still needs replaced lol

Next is low lows and exhaust, maybe paint the bottle caps black to match the grill and bumpers

Dunno bout the visors, would need more pics.

Everything else you said sounds good though.

I'd go DIY coils. Setup sorta depends on what you want out of it
