    How's it going?

I'm hoping I might be able to get some help.

Just purchased an E230 W210 Merc, currently has 15" steelies with 195/65's on it and I'm wanting to go to alloy, only catch is I've never bought wheels before so its all abit daunting.

I think I've worked out the tires I want that will keep a similar rollout to what it has now.
    They are either:

    225/40R18 front
    255/40R18 rear
    OR
    225/35R19 front
    255/30R19 rear

I'm basing the width off the fact most 18/19's are around 8-10" width. Am I going too wide?

I guess the part I'm struggling with now is the ET.

I know stock they have an ET of 35-38 (usually 35) but I dont know if I'll clear the rubber with that offset, or if I need to decrease it down to 20 or so. I'm happy to roll the guard if need be.

So it's known, the car is completely stock, although I will hopefully lower it 2" in the future.

    Thanks very much!

Welcome! What wheels were you considering? Having an idea of what you want would make it a lot easier to see if it'll fit. I'm running 18x8.5 ET 35 all around, with 25mm spacers in the rear (bringing the ET to 10) and I'm tossing my 15mm spacers back on the front.
