  • is 1/4" gap between wheel and strut enough space?

so I just test fit some wheels and have only about 1/4" of space, if even that, between the wheel and strut. Will that be enough space to drive the car without any complications as I drive? My car has airmatic if that makes any difference...

How is the strut mounted to the hub? Does it have a bushing or is it bolt on?

If there's no movement, it should be fine.

In the above picture with my finger, the car was not under any load, I had it jacked up in the air. Here are some pix of how the strut is mounted. Looks like its bolted; yes, I plan on going 225/40/19 on 10" so there will be some stretch.

With a stretched tire on a Mac-strut, knuckle or anything without a bushing, you can run as tight as 3mm safely. If the wheel and closest suspension component can move independently of each other, then you need to test your clearances through your full range of suspension travel.

Your setup should not be an issue for the wheel... the tire on the other hand would depend on fitment.
