We built a new firewall. I wasn't keen on the aluminum one and just went with this simple cone shape in steel. This hopefully gives next year's engineers space for a transmission.

We are sending the body off for paint tomorrow if all goes well!

We are also powder coating most of the brackets, handles etc. in "almost chrome" which is very close to the wheel finish.

                      Those are exhaust pipes.

The way the air moves through this thing is really convoluted. Air enters through the rear, gets compressed, moves through the longitudinal tubes to the combustor, were it is introduced to fuel and burned, moves through gas producer turbines, and finally goes through the power turbine and exits out the middle of the turbine.

                          • Finished up the oil tank! Wow outside corners in stainless are tough to TIG and look good. Any pointers out there? we have one week until design day! the body is back from paint and we are now ready for reassembly.

                              • Chrysler made a turbine car back in the early 60's. I saw a show on the car, if I recall right the big problem was getting all of that power to the ground.

                                By the way, awesome build.
