I'm looking for a tyre that is narrow for it's size since I need all the clearance possible.
I've heard that Falken 452 and Toyo T1-R are both like this but I'm not comfortable using either although I've used both on other wheels.
Well I guess I'll answer to my own question. Hankook S1 evo works very well with stretching, seems to be one of the narrowest tires and still very high quality product.

+1 for FK-452's they take the everyday beating. Running 215/45/17 on 8.5 in front while having a 235/40/17 on a 9.5" in the back... not crazy aggressive, but I also have had nothing but good things from them

                Dunlop Direzza DZ101's.

they are super cheap, have good traction , stretch nice and dont have horrible or fast wear.

had my black e30 on 16x8 w/ 195/50's for over a year and they showed very little wear, and almost no camber wear even with my front and rear camber maxed out. i run them on my daily bronzit which is on 16x9 w/ 205/40's and the tires areholding up perfect.
