  • At the bodyshop I worked at for a while, we used 3M 08115 panel bonding adhesive to join plastic parts like that. The big advantage of it is that it's sandable and paintable as-is, and it's stupid strong. We actually occasionally used it even to fab small plastic bits, like missing fins on grilles, since it held up so well.

I'll second all the noise about that IS bumper. That has the potential to look incredible.

      • Right on. You still might want to fiberglass together the backside where the two parts join, just since you'll have very long seams down the sides by the wheel wells and across the top. I would rough the shit out of the backside of the parts, as far in either direction from the seam as you can go, then lay a layer of mat to promote bonding, and a layer of woven cloth on top for maximum strength.

        EDIT: Clarity.

                  • Whoa, that bumper would look fantastic, definitely gives the front end a more befitting aggressive look. How on earth did you have the idea that a lexus bumper would work??

The rearend is comprised of IS250 aero, so the thought for the front bumper was pretty much concurrent to that... haha slowly turning my car into a Flexus!

Well i put my spoiler on, but it was TOO dark to get any good pix (galaxy s4 owners know this struggle)

subtle but it adds so much imo
