  • Euro 1983 Golf GTI MK1

I decided to make a topic for my mk1 GTI Golf here from Helsinki, Finland.

I bought her from Sweden during last winter and since then itīs been under constant upgrading. My goal itīs to keep it original or make such upgrades, which can be deleted easily.

Itīs one of the quite last mk1 GTIs with 1800cc engine. The car was in northern Sweden for 29― years before I bought it here, so it has survived from salty winter roads quite well. What I know from the history of the car, itīs been driven year round until 2009.

The original mk1 GTIs values are going up slowly but steady and I do not want to mess that up.

    Short spec list:

    - Original Black paint (repainted in sweden few yrs ago, paintwork 7―-8-)
    - Original Red / Black interior
    - Original exterior, front bumper changed to version without headlight washers. Swedish versions had always those (bit ugly) washers. Have the original front bumper also though.
    - 7x15" BBS RS & 165/45/15 Nankang
    - Coilovers + all the bushes and control arms renewed this spring

    etc etc

beautiful car. tires are way too small imo. could put some meat on those - not even close to hitting the flares or anything..

                            Amazing! Love it.
The wheels are kind of inspiration to mine. And the height too. Mine just got sport springs.

Here's a shot of my Pirelli...
