pshhh don't listen to anyone that tells you how to do stuff. learn your own way and create your own style. most of my shit is still taken on a 35mm prime lens. used the 70-300mm this weekend but I still prefer the 35mm and just get closer to the action. panning just takes practice, its actually harder with a bigger lens IMO
as for the front hit, I just need to get a new bonnet/headlight/front bar and it'll be sweet so no worries there
