  • Safe to powdercoat old wheels?

I've been looking into the negative effects of powdercoating old cast aluminum wheels. What are your thoughts/opinions on it? Does the baking process change the characteristics of the metal or make it more brittle?

Wheels in question are some old Brabus IIs from Germany.

depends on what temp you bake at. i spent extra to get an oven that can bake at a much lower temps because i do a lot of motorcycle wheels. just when deciding what powdercoater to use, do your research on the coater. find out what temps they bake at.

Thanks! What temperature do you recommend baking at?
