  • Tire size help? I know, I know, I'm a noob

Hi guys I tried searching for this before I posted but I couldn't seem to find what I needed.

These are the CCWs I'm building for my 242:

    Front Specs-
    16x9
    205/45R16

honestly I would have liked a little smaller overall diameter but I can live with the slightly taller height compared to my current wheels

    Rear Specs-
    16x11.5
    245/50R16

Overall diameter is just massive and fitting these wheels will already be a project, I'd rather not have to radius the fenders to fit 16" wheels just because the tires are too big.

I need help with the rears.. I want a good stretch but the most important thing is keeping the OD around 22"

I found a 245/35R16 do you guys think that would work?

The rear 245/35R16 should work, OD is 22.7".
The front will need a 205/40R16, so the OD is 22.4"

    Did you consider 16x10.5 with a 225/40 and 16x9 with 215/40?

ya ideally the fronts would have been 205/40 but my dad was concerned with there being too much stretch, but the height isn't too bad; the rears just wont fit. He's letting me do what ever size I want in the rears now after seeing how big the tires were.

my rears are 16x11.5" so do you think the 225/40 would be too much stretch? too much as in there is a gap in between the wheel lip and tire. I was looking at that size on tirerack but thought it might be too narrow.

I (personally) think a 225/40 on a 11.5" wide rim is a little bit to much...
Maybe a 225/45 suits them better.
Another thing is that you have 16s which limits you in sizes you have avalible...
It also depends on how wide or narrow the tires are a wide 225/40 would help...
