He raised the subframe so the spacers keep the driveline angle the same as stock

PART 2
So I left off when we got lunch on the second day of work, we got a lot done up to there. The next bit of work was the passenger rear trailing arm, it was rusted around the spring perch so we had to fix it at least temporarily. So I welded a plate on it and a piece of tubing to center the bag, the tubing part isnt in the pic but you get the idea...
Got that welded up and painted everything, then assembled the whole rear subframe and put it back in the car. It went in really nicely, only took about 25 minutes!
After that we went onto the fronts, its about midnight at this point... cut the strut housings down and and slipped the fronts together
Everything welded up nicely, MIG welded the first one and it got plenty hot with good penetration. Moved onto the second one and tacked it in two spots before running out of wire.......
I just recently learned how to TIG weld so I did that for the second one, it went well too. no pics of that one though.
While i was getting stuff done Dave got drunk.... alone...
Then got all the air lines done and fired everything up!
It worked perfectly right off the bat! Couldnt have been happier with everything, a lot still has to be done but the car is on the ground! heres the pics!
Finished at 2am and aired it up and down for like 30 minutes lol
And a video...
Bagged E30 from GREGKLINE on Vimeo.
Theres still a lot to do, heres a main list:
Calipers are getting powder coated and rebuilt by Ian (eethirty)
Need to rebuild parking brakes
New hard brake line on the drivers side
SS brake lines all around
Parking brake lines
Tie rods
Wheel bearings
Reinstall driveshaft
Exhaust
The rear fitment has to be adjusted, ill get to that later!
Theres other things too, the updates will be coming in. Super excited about this, feels good to have the bulk of it done though!Last edited by K-Line; 02-02-2015, 01:11 PM.Instagram: @GregKline55
