If the principle is the same as the shock absorber so e30 pipe is cut, leaving a short length of the remaining 5-10cm.
Then the tube in the hubs coilover in and welded to the connecting ..
my e30 front shocks were made by following these steps ..

According to realoem.com the spindles and bearings are different on the 316 than the 320, at least by part number. The disk is the same.
